Two worksheets based on page 36 in Studio 3 rouge to introduce healthy food and phrases to talk about food in the future tense. The gapfill worksheet can be used with the red or the green book to introduce food items in French and for students to produce a vocab list. The other worksheet uses the phrases from task 1 as a match up task and a translation to extend the task.

A fun plenary or starter game for the main beginners' topics in any language. On each slide there are 16 squares with five treasures hidden behind them. Students translate the vocabulary on the boxes and if they get it right they choose a square and get a point/sweet/sticker if they find a treasure. This activity is based on the gamification theory that random rewards make games more addictive and fun. This is a tarsia puzzle to practise vocab from chapter 2 in Stimmt 1 (family and pets. A tarsia consists of puzzle pieces that the students cut out and then match words to form a certain shape (ideally students don’t know what shape that is). They will quickly realise their mistakes if the puzzle won’t fit together. Great activity for Friday afternoons, cover lessons or end of term. This download includes: sheets for students with jumbled up puzzle pieces, an answer sheet for the teacher in list form and one showing the shape. If the print quality of the student slide isn’t good enough, use the attached pdf file.

Two columns with pictures/phrases, students choose their own illness, remedy… and then have to guess which of them their partner chose. To practise speaking more the rule is that they have to start the sentence from the beginning and keep going until they use a phrase their partner hasn’t chosen. Similar to battleships but with a longer sentence.
