Description: This straightforward activity should be run at the end of a lesson: it’s a quick activity that encourages students to reflect on metacognitive factors that have helped them to learn or presented obstacles to learning. Students are presented with a question and move around the room to show their response, providing an opportunity for further metacognitive questioning from the teacher. How To Use: Simply run the PowerPoint Show at the end of your lesson (when there are 5-10 minutes remaining) Each slide presents your class with four options: they must move to different corners of the room to indicate their answer! Once students have moved: it is an ideal opportunity to ask questions that lead them towards insight surrounding their own learning and how they can increase their learning-power in future lessons. The topic of this revision session is: ‘The news media and their significance for an understanding of the role of the media in contemporary society’. It is designed for teachers using the new AQA Sociology specification at KS5. Save significant amounts of money by buying these revision sessions in bundles!
