This lesson is designed to introduce KS3 students to the key drama term; 'SEMIOTICS'. Using practical tasks, a class worksheet and homework, students will begin to appreciate how designers can use signs to create meaning.

This is a full scheme o work aimed at KS3 and based on using the Titanic Disaster to build understanding of Docu-Drama, Verbatim, Hot-Seating and Monologue with character work. The package includes a whiteboard resource for each lesson, homework resources for each lesson, all lesson worksheets and resources and a detailed SOW outline document lined to S+L NC targets.

This resource includes five one hour sessions as an introduction to Commedia for KS3, aimed at weaker Year 8 sets. Each lesson has a detailed powerpoint to guide non-specialists through the lesson with a visual resource.

I designed this SOW to link with our PSHCE Curriculum on running away and to prepare students for the devising units in the post 2016 GCSE Specifications. The resource contains all lessons, with all resources for handouts. Each lesson is guided through in a detailed powerpoint and the SOW covers some Frantic Assembly methodology and builds devising skills.

This is a one-off workshop-style lesson based on the poem 'Sick' by Shel Silverstein. Looks at the use of persuasive language, and how this can be performed. Ideal for an English/Drama cross-curricular focus.

This unit is designed to prepare KS3 students for some of the elements of the new GCSE Specifications. The unit covers Proxemics, Semiotics, Dramatic Pause, Improvisation and some elements of technical theatre. The resource comes with all lesson and homework handouts and a detailed and interactive powerpoint for each of the 7 lessons (could be tailored to 14 lessons).

This is a 10 lesson resource for teaching the play 'Walking With Shadows' by Ben Myers. I have found that the play really engages Year 9 students as it focuses on mental illness, the super-natural and creates mystery. You will need a class set of this script to be able to teach this unit. All lessons have a detailed powerpoint, differentiated resources with AGT stretch and challenge. Lesson handouts and homework sheets are also provided. The scheme introduces Artaud, Immersive Theatre and other abstract theatrical devices - it is a great preparation for GCSE as written tasks are based on the new GCSE Specifications. All resources are in word/ppt format, allowing for your amendments.

These two documents give A level students all the contextual information they need to revise for SECTION C of the 2016 Specification and SECTION B of the legacy Specification. Information is presented in a student friendly way. The Stage Action in Lysistrata document is useful for students who need extending to top band responses for Section B or need stretch and challenge in the final few lessons.

This one hour, one-off lesson on Costume design requires rolls of toilet paper. Students love this lesson and begin to develop the vocab required for GCSE Technical questions.

A six hour SOW on the them of Domestic Violence, great as a start off for devising for GCSE Drama - encourages student to use non-linear/non-naturalistic conventions to explore a gritty and mature theme using a range of stimuli. Originally written for the old Edexcel Unit 1, but now used with Year 10 to spark ideas for the Devising unit.

Designed for KS3, originally as an A,G and T Project, these extension activities will encourage students to research Da Vinci.

This hour-two hour workshop introduces students to literal and symbolic Still Images, for use in their GCSE Devising work. Comes with Powerpoint, resource and detailed lesson plan. Written to form part of introductory lessons for GCSE or IGCSE Drama in Year 9/10.

This one-off, one-hour workshop on the use of Dramatic Pause in drama is well-suited to KS3 students.

This powerpoint guides students through the basics of Frantic's style, using building blocks from their book. This was designed for L6th students who have a already completed my SOW on Homelessness, where Frantic Assembly is introduced (this can be purchased on TES). The information on how Frantic use dialogue and words in their work is not expanded in this powerpoint as it has been covered in more detail in the homelessness scheme (designed for KS3/4). I also sell a tailored writing frame for Edexcel Component 1, which links to this powerpoint and is tailored to support Devised work in the style of Frantic Assembly.

This three hour workshop was designed as part of our school activity week to explore Alice in Wonderland. Students really enjoyed it and developed their drama skills.
