Three weeks of planning on ‘Stone Age Boy’ for year 3. It is in line with the new requirements (2019) of the curriculum: cross-curricular writing, BIG question, WOW moments and link with the personal experiences of the children. I have followed the sequence for writing developed by Liz Holmes.

A short comprehension activity based on finding context clues. I planned this for the start of the year for Year 3. It helps the children to always refer to the text when answering a question and back up their ideas with evidence.

Resource used with Year 3 as part of our inferencing a character’s feelings. We watched the dragon slayer and then described the hero’s feelings emphasizing the change in his emotions.
