Peg the Butterfly!
These worksheets are perfect for supporting fine motor skills! The sheets can be glued to a cardboard box lid or a piece of cardboard. Adult must create holes into the butterfly, inside the outline, following the perimeter. These holes can be created using a screwdriver/pen/pencil etc. The aim for these sheets are for the children to use plastic pegs (mushroom style) or alternatively cotton buds cut in half, inserting them into the pre-made holes in the butterfly. The children have the freedom to decorate the butterfly using whichever colours they wish.

Ice Cream Patterns
Children have the task of replicating the Ice creams on the flashcards! This can be used via VELCRO DOTS, PEGS, GLUE. This activity promotes: COLOUR RECOGNITION, ORDERING, RECOGNISING PATTERNS, PATTERN FORMING/REPLICATING, PROBLEM SOLVING, COUNTING, FINE MOTOR SKILLS, PINCER GRIP.

Loose Parts Colour Sorting 1-10
These resources are perfect for colour sorting using various loose parts. The aim is for the children to sift through the loose parts, and place the correct coloured object onto each corresponding line. To extend this activity further, numerals 1-10 are underneath each paint strip. The children have the opportunity to only put that specific quantity of items on each strip! This activity promotes: PROBLEM SOLVING, COLOUR RECOGNITION, MAKING CONNECTIONS, SORTING, FINE MOTOR SKILLS, NUMBER RECOGNITION, COUNTING, MATCHING QUANTITIES TO NUMERALS.

Room Roles WHITE
New feature to add to your setting! Each week, 2 children will be assigned one of 3 roles. Meaning in total, 6 children will be allowed to participate. Throughout routine, independence is greatly encouraged, I.e. putting away chairs after meal times, self serving snack etc. However I believe by introducing specific roles will really benefit children’s learning. The children can wear these lanyards with pride all week, making everyone aware of the hard work they put into making their room the joyous place it is!These roles include:
Cutlery Captains : The role of these children, is to set out the cutlery at meal times, and put it away once washed! This includes sorting through the knife,forks and spoons, putting them away in the correct pots.
Tidy Team : The role of these children, is once tidying up time is over. It is their responsibility to check over every area, ensuring it is clean and tidy, ready for next time.
Hat Heroes : The role of these children, is to gather all the nursery/school hats from the garden. They must put them away in the correct drawers,before we come back inside!
By adding this into your routine you are promoting: INDEPENDENCE, SENSE OF SELF, KINDNESS, RESPONSIBILITY. Room Roles gives the children ownership of their classroom organisation and helps the children in their roles as leaders within their area of influence. Through the year, the children will have the opportunity to have the responsibility of taking on each role which will enhance their skill-set and adaptability.

A new enhancement for your classroom! I have created quantity displays for each of the areas to make the children aware of how many children can be in each area at one time. In a room it is essential for the children to not over crowd an area to ensure each child reaches their full potential in each activity and gets the most out of it. The children must also learn to take turns and wait patiently for their turn. If the area is full, by all means they can turn the timer over and go play in another area until the timer runs out. Then they can do a switch over! An added bonus is that it promotes numeracy! They children have the option of recognising the numeral or counting the amount of stick children on the image to make them aware of how many can be in each area! Large copies of these are ideal for permanent display in specific areas, I.e. sand/water tray, roleplay area etc. But smaller versions can be added to specific trays/activities that are set out so the children can visually see how many children play there at one time!
