This resource pack contains HOTs Question Cubes for Reading (Fiction) in the primary years. There are 4 colour-coded versions of each cube: HOTS colour outline with black text (US English); Black outline with HOTS colour text (US English); HOTS colour outline with black text (UK English), and Black outline with HOTS colour text (UK English). Additionally there are blanks in each HOTS colour and black. 2023 update – added student question recording sheet and suggested activities 2025 update – Rebrand These cubes can be used during: Guided Reading Teacher-led activities Group activities Paired/Peer reading activities Independent Reading Personal Reading Features of the cubes: All questions are linked to a level of Bloom’s taxonomy and are colour coded from cold colours (lower level thinking) to hot colours (higher level thinking) Can be used in the classroom or for learning at home Can be used with any fiction texts (novels, short stories, graphic novels etc.) Can be used as part of a grab and go resource for learning outdoors Can be used for a whole class at a time – no differentiation required.
