This worksheet is made up of pictures of 5 real electric circuits. The main idea is for children to look at the photos and then use the provided symbols to draw the corresponding electrical circuit diagrams. The symbols are provided in a table at the beginning of the worksheet and there are questions after each circuit. Questions probe children’s observation, connections with real life, problems with the circuits and ways to improve them. This worksheet can word as a nice introduction or even a follow-up to children building circuits for themselves. They could even build them along side completing the worksheet. I hope this helps your children to draw electrical circuits properly as well as improve their general understanding of electronics.

Through the classic game of Battleships, this activity will help reinforce the concept of (coordinates), specifically 4 and 6 digit grid-references in a fun way. There are two pages to this download. The first contains a 4-digit grid-reference game and a separate 6-digit game. The second page is the same setup, except their are more ships available to place on the board. Instructions: The idea is that each student in a pair gets a copy of the worksheet. They then place the designated ships on their grid using the letters. They may also colour them as well. Tip: Make sure they place all their ships on the grid and that they don’t split them up into pieces. Once the ships have been positioned, the first player will give a grid-reference to ‘bomb’. If they get a direct hit on one of the other players ships, the other player must say so and also tell what type of ship they hit. The first player can then mark on their own sheet whether it was a hit or miss. The first player to destroy all the enemy ships is the winner. On this A3 worksheet, children create a key and colour in the countries on the map of Asia. Except for the map, this document is fully editable. Instructions: a) Select and write down the names of 15 countries, found in Asia, in the key below. b) Assign a different colour for each country and then colour in the corresponding location on the map of Asia. c) Mark on either the names of the oceans and seas, or some of the capital cities. You could also have the children draw on famous human-made or natural landmarks.

This set is made up of three different worksheets. Each one has five different flags in the middle and on either side of the flags are the corresponding country and continent names (not in order). The objective is for the children to look up the country in an atlas or on the internet and then discover its flag and continent. They then need to colour the flag correctly and draw arrows to join up the flags to the correct country name and continent. See the image preview to get a better idea of how it works. This little app called, ‘Hidden’, allows you to play a reveal the picture activity. It consists of numbered tiles which will disappear when clicked on, revealing part of the picture that lies behind. There are two templates included: The first has 12 numbered boxes with text boxes behind each. This allows you to write in your own questions. If the individual/team answers the question correctly, then part of the picture can be revealed for them to have a guess at what it is. The second template has 36 tiles but no question boxes underneath. It can be used as a reward system for answering verbal questions. I often find and use pictures with camouflaged animals in so that they are tricker to guess, even with many different parts revealed.

This is a giant A3 sized crossword puzzle that I use to review our Ancient China unit at the end of term. I usually let children work in pairs if they want to. Also, initially I won’t let them consult any resources or ask questions, just to see how far they get first. There are more than 20 questions in total! Here are some of them to give you an idea of the level required. A type of ceramic invented by the Chinese. It is thin, strong, and beautiful. It is often called “china” in the west. A type of varnish used to protect items and make them more beautiful. A legendary monster that terrorized a Chinese village until they used fireworks and noise to scare it off. A revered mythical creature that has the long body of a serpent, sharp teeth, four legs with sharp talons, and can fly. This puzzle is would be suitable for upper KS2 and KS3.

This display is ideal for projecting the denominations of British Pound. Underneath the labeled coins and notes is an enlarged table for typing in different amounts of pounds (with space for up to £999.99). To achieve the lesson objective - make up given amounts, children will need either actual or fake money. Our school has a large set of fake currency which I divide up between small groups. Individuals can then easily select what they need to make up the given amount. Projecting the chart on a white board also allows you to tally or cross-off coins as you work through examples on how to make up different amounts. You could also do the same on the document too as it’s fully editable. To add difficulty to the LO, ask the children to make it in the easiest way possible or once they have made it up one way, challenge them to make it up another way.

This document is made up of 40 different cards (4 fact cards for each of the 8 planets in our solar system). Please see the preview for insight on the variety of different facts. Ideally, print on A3 and cut up the cards. The idea is for children to match the facts up to the correct planet. They could also put the planets in order from the sun as an additional task. I find this best suited to groups of 3-4 children so print off enough copies for your class. It works well as a starter to a unit on space but also could be used during or at the end to see how much they have learned. If you can, laminate the cards for future use. This fun activity lets children explore that classic deserted island scenario. It presents pictures of 16 items from which the children have to choose three to take with them to be stranded with. They must explain verbally or in writing why they have chosen these items. The children could even suggest why other items would not be worth having. It’s worth encouraging the children to think of alternate uses for the items they have chosen too. This works both as an individual activity and as a group activity to promote effective communication between members.

This worksheet includes a world map (with country borders), a key for ten places and a compass. Students can use it to help improve their locational geographic knowledge of ten different countries around the world. Using an atlas (online or traditional) they can find a particular country and then colour it in on the map using the key to identify it.
