A fun Maths activity that allows students to work at their own pace using the colour bands to support their progression. Inspired by the French "ceinture’ approach, these sessions allow for student led, interactive learning for mixed ability classes. How to teach: Either print out the sheets and the students can self-mark after each colour band or cut out each band and give them out to each student once they complete each colour band. A interactive and engaging activity that allows students to fully grasp how show not tell can be used in their descriptive writing. In this activity you will find: Images that link with emotions The students are required to apply their knowledge to link the images and emotions with examples of show not tell phrases. Extension ideas: Students can add their own show not tell phrases to the image cards. Students can uplevel the emotions using more challenging vocabulary. Additional A3 group work sheet can be used to scaffold learning. A differentiated set of show not tell activities is also available in my shop.

A fun wellbeing book that supports students to reflect and log their habits to support their mental and physical health. This is not so much a work booklet but rather a fun activity book that students can complete in their free time/holidays. My class actually gave me feedback on the pages. An engaging mindful activity set that provides strategies for children to manage stress and prioritise their wellbeing. This pack includes: Gnomes Poster for Display Gnomes Individual Poster Page (Ideal if you want to stick individual gnomes around as you explore the different wellbeing strategies. Presentation Pack: Contains a information page for each Gnome with facts, tips and strategies. These link nicely to the student activity booklet. Student Activity Booklet: Interactive activities that support the student’s engagement with different wellbeing strategies. This set can be used at any time of the year as the gnomes are not linked to Christmas. However, I like to save it for Nov/Dec as a build up for the winter break.

A full 36 page comprehension set of vocabulary lists beginning with CVC words. This is a great resources to help students work at their own pace. Activities are linked directly to the national curriculum vocabulary lists. Exercises are easy to follow and can allow students to work independently or collaboratively. A full unit incorporation the 6 sets of vocabulary lists and linked exercises can be found in my shop. Set 1 has been shared separately to give you a preview of the range of vocabulary and exercises on offer. An engaging and visual way to pair students up so they can mix with their peers. Each card consists of two items that often go in a pair. E.g. Macaroni card needs to find the cheese card. Can be used as a fun ice breaker to get students talking. I have used this for Years 1 - 6. So suitable for KS1 and KS2.

A game where students match up cards to make a complete phrases to support their descriptive writing skills. This activity is taken from the action phrase section of the DADWAVERS unit in my shop. The pack includes to sets of cards (Set A and Set B). Each set includes 10 phrases that have been split in two. Useful resource if you are looking for an interactive game to help students identify and familiarise themselves with action phrases. Extension: Students could make their own set of action cards.
