I'm a PE teacher that enjoys making great resources to be used in lessons with my classes. After a few compliments and recommendations I decided to sell on TES. On TES I mainly have full unit resources for the new OCR GCSE PE (9-1) specification. Each unit will feature all that you need for the unit as I adopt the all-in-one approach, allowing you to get organised before each unit. nw_pe@hotmail.com

Year 7 End of Year PE Theory Exam - Key Stage 3 - All Resources - Simple GCSE Content

(0)
As a result of having end of year exams across all subjects at our school I have created this end of year exam for Year 7. I have based this on the new specification in preparation for those who opt for GCSE PE. Whilst it is challenging the content can be and probably already is taught through practical lessons to avoid missing any practical time (muscular system, components of fitness, training methods, warming up etc). Included in this resources is the following: - 40 mark exam paper featuring multiple choice and short answer questions. - The mark scheme. - A revision booklet to print and give to students to revise. - A revision powerpoint to go through in lesson, we use one lesson prior to the exam to recap this content. This resource would be great value for anyone who needs to create a key stage 3 exam or revamp their current one to correspond to the new specification. Year 8 end of year exam also available.

OCR GCSE PE 9-1 (2016) Paper 2 Revision Booklet / Guide with Questions and Mark Scheme

We have over 400 5 star reviews on our highly successful GCSE PE units of work and are confident that our new OCR GCSE PE Revision Guides will not disappoint! This is a 53 page revision guide for Paper 2 – Socio-cultural issues and sports psychology (02) of the OCR GCSE (9-1) PE Specification (first examination in 2018). As a PE teacher who was unsatisfied with the revision guides available on the market I decided to create this for our students. As a department, we believe that this revision guide is as good, if not better than the ones available from publishers. However, with this one you will only need to purchase the file once then print as many as you need for years to come meaning this could offer you excellent value. The guide has been created in line with the specification to feature <b>everything</b> that students need to know for Paper 2. The information is clear, detailed and displayed in an appealing, easily accessible style for students with supporting images and diagrams. Please see the bottom of this text if you wish to see what is covered. As well as the information necessary, within the workbook for every aspect of the specification students must apply the knowledge to create a sporting example, practicing assessment objective 2 (AO2). They must do so using one of the nine sports people featured in the booklet. By applying their knowledge to sport students can develop greater understanding as opposed to that gained from just reading through their notes. If you have purchased our resources before you will be familiar with our set up. In addition to the vast amount of sporting example questions, at the end of each unit there are some exam style questions testing recall, explanation and relative importance skills. Also included is a mark scheme for these questions, allowing you to go through these in lessons. You could use these booklets in lessons in the lead up to the exam as they will take students hours to complete, or they could be provided to work on at home. If you have any queries please contact us at nw_pe @hotmail.com If you decide to purchase please leave us a review, especially if you have purchased our items before, we’d love to hear how you’ve found it. Content covered: 2.1.a – Engagement patterns of different social groups in physical activity and sport 2.1.b – Commercialisation of physical activity and sport 2.1.c – Ethical and socio-cultural issues in physical activity and sport 2.2 – Sports psychology 2.3 – Health, fitness and well-being Paper 1 revision guide also available here: /teaching-resource/ocr-gcse-pe-9-1-2016-paper-1-revision-booklet-guide-with-questions-and-mark-scheme-11860148

The pathway of the blood activity. Students work in pairs to create the pathway of the blood by ordering the cards into the correct order. Answers are interactive on the powerpoint to go through. Test your knowledge answer sheet. This is an activity sheet to go alongside an activity in the presentation. Students answer the questions as quick as they can before peer marking. This is a full unit of work for the new OCR GCSE (9-1) PE Specification (2016). Please check out my other resources for more OCR Units just like this one. You can now purchase the full specification bundle from my TES shop. This will be all you need to deliver the fifth unit - 1.1.e - The Effects of Exercise on the Body Systems. This resource contains the following: A 80 slide powerpoint covering all aspects of the specification for the unit. This powerpoint contains learning outcomes, all the necessary information for notes, interactive tasks, embedded video clips, whiteboard activities, exam questions, two mini quizzes, 6 mark question tips and the answers to the tasks featured in the workbook. The powerpoint and workbook correspond so there is nothing you need to do other than print the documents. A 27 page all-in-one workbook created to be completed alongside the powerpoint. This features learning outcomes to self assess against, space to take notes, graph work, fun tasks, assessment opportunities, a 6 mark question and opportunities to apply knowledge to sporting examples. For this unit I have also introduced boxes for AO1, AO2 and AO3’s to allow students to clearly recognise each one and the structure. My aim is that this will enable students to write with this structure easier during tests and access the higher marks. A ‘name and explain grid’. In this activity students will highlight whether the 25 effects listed in the grid are short or long term effects, they will also identify which system they belong too. On the reverse side they will explain each effect. This task is easy to differentiate as I have some students give sporting examples and evaluate the importance whilst others just explain the effects. A topic test to be completed at the end of the unit. This contains the questions released by OCR as well as some that have been created for the unit to test each part of the specification. It also includes a 6 mark question. The test is out of 25 marks and the answers feature on the powerpoint to go through with students, I have wrote model answers as well as the OCR mark scheme. Athletics Unit Workbook (Key Stage 3)

(0)
This is a 12 page workbook which students can work through alongside an athletics unit. The workbook features details on how a unit can be run, we have students in ability groups of four, working through the events so that they are working and then competiting with students of similar ability. The different roles detailed are performer, cameraman, coach and team mate. The workbook then features assessment criteria, world records for males, females, U13's, U'15 and U'17's, and pages on sprinting, sprint start technique, middle distance running, the 4x100m relay changeover methods, shot put, javelin and long jump. Each of these pages features teaching points, boxes for self/peer assessment and plenary questions to complete. On the back of the booklet there is a table for students to record their scores. In this table there is a column which requires students to write how they think they could improve further in the event. I use the Sainsburys athletics criteria to read out the bronze, silver and gold scores and students tick which category they are in. There is also a bunch of flowers for students to tick if they do not hit the bronze target. Within this table there are gaps for extra events/results if you want to complete further events which are not listed. Students enjoy using the booklets alongside athletics and these also get students into good routines.

Trampolining Unit Workbook (Key Stage 3)

This is a 14 page workbook which students can work through alongside a trampolining unit. The workbook features details on how a unit can be run, we have students in ability groups of three, working on a trampoline with other groups of similar ability, this allows the teacher to differentiate much easier. The different roles detailed are performer, cameraman, coach and spotter/assistant coach. The workbook then features assessment criteria and pages detailing the progressions, teaching points and ways of correctly common errors on the following skills; straight bouncing, stopping, shape jumps, seat landings, half/full twists, front landings, back landings, swivel hips and twisting from/into landings. Towards the back of the booklet there are three routines which students can practice. There is then space for students to create their own ten bounce routines. Finally on the back of the booklet there is a table for students to record the skills they can complete. In this table there is a column which requires students to write the feedback they received from their coach (peer) on how they think they could improve further. I use the Sainsburys athletics criteria to read out the bronze, silver and gold scores and students tick which category they are in. Within this table there are gaps for extra skills that may be taught in the unit. Students enjoy using the booklets and they give them an ownership of learning. Students use the booklets to coach their group members to improve. These booklets also get students into good routines as when we use them we follow the same structure each week.

Students have a choice of nine questions which are banded into difficulty. The bands that they answer the questions from are determined by their target grade but students can choose to push them selves and are still offered choice with three questions in each band. For example a student with a target grade of 6 would be expected to answer 1 question from band D (hardest), 2 from band C (middle) and 1 from band B (easiest). The questions require them to practice various skills such as explaining (band B), applying to sport (band C) and evaluating (band D).

OCR GCSE PE 9-1 (2016) Physical Training Mock Exam with Mark Scheme

(0)
I have created a mock exam used to assess the physical training units of the OCR 9-1 specification. This paper has been created to test the components of fitness, applying the principles of training and preventing injury in physical activity units (1.2.a, 1.2.b, 1.2.c) We will be using this as an end of year mock exam with our year 10 classes. Included in this item is: Physical Training Exam Paper - this paper features 21 questions which equate to 60 marks, the paper will take 1 hour as it would with the real exam. 1 mark, 2 mark, 3 mark, 4 mark and a 6 mark question are included in this paper. For the 6 mark question I have made it test two different areas of knowledge (as they do now) but as our students have not started the Paper 2 content yet I have just used two physical training topics. Mark Scheme - a detailed mark scheme written in the style of an official mark scheme which can be used with students when evaluating the paper afterwards. I have also wrote model answers to show what is expected in each answer. The question paper and mark scheme have been designed to replicate the design/style of OCR’s exam papers to ensure students take the paper seriously. They look realistic.
