A BFG inspired activity focusing on standard English/verb inflections and direct speech. Can be used as starter activity or part of main lesson.

This writing activity can be used as a whole lesson, an assessed write or a cold write activity. I have used this with my class over 3 lessons - draft, edit and revising and final published copy. The cold write sheet is adaptable to however you would like whether it is more or less sentences of if you want to change the writing outcome.

A short lesson based on The Storm Whale by Benji Davies. The lesson focuses on creating expanded noun phrases with adjectives and prepositions. Aimed at Year 3/4 but can be adapted for Year 2 and 5. Includes slides, plan and resources. Book not included. Also perfect for an ECT interview lesson.
