Create your own “Story Station” to promote communication and language in your classroom. Perfect for encouraging children to read or to draw attention to a particular topic which you are exploring in class.
A botanical, neutral theme to tie in with a Hessian style classroom.
Contains - author and illustrator signs, story station sign, focus book sign.
How It Works: One child will be the author, telling the story. The other child will be the illustrator , drawing a picture relating to the story (i.e. a favourite character or moment from the story). This works well for communication and language and encouraging children to get writing and mark making.
How to Play: Ask children to look at the picture. For example, they may pick up the “Taxi” card. Encourage the children to think about the initial sounds they can hear and place a peg on the grapheme that matches the phoneme.
