A new PSHE lesson in 2025. This lesson focuses on the importance of showing empathy rather than sympathy. Students will explore how empathy influences our relationships and consider how to be empathetic in a range of scenarios.

The lesson includes a detailed, editable PowerPoint, with embeded clip tasks, teacher talk and student activities. In include an editable ‘Do Now’ slide, to link students back to prior learning.

This is suitable for KS3 or KS4, but is best suited to KS3, because of the types of scenarios being age appropriate for these students.

This lesson is accessable for specialist and non-specialist PSHE teachers and is ready to use.

This lesson can be taught stand-alone or as part of the topic ‘A Better World For Myself And Others’. More resources can be found on my author page.
