This year, Safer Internet Day falls on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, and we at Tes are thrilled to join thousands of organisations across the UK and internationally in supporting this important event. Spearheaded by The UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day serves as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to help children and young people stay safe online.

The theme for Safer Internet Day 2025

This year’s theme, “Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online,” will spark essential conversations about online safety. Topics will include the impact of generative AI on scammers’ tactics, the role of governments in protecting internet users, the responsibilities of social media platforms, and changes young people want to see for a safer digital future.

Why Safer Internet Day Matters

The statistics from last year highlight just how impactful this event is:

  • 2,163 organisations supported Safer Internet Day in 2024
  • Safer Internet Day films were viewed 1.6 million times
  • The campaign reached 32% of parents and carers across the UK
  • 52% of people were aware of Safer Internet Day and its mission

  • We will be sharingan insightful blog on sextortion and deepfakes, written by our 51 expert, Dawn Jotham. Shedding light on these pressing issues and offering practical advice for parents, carers, and educators.

  • We are offering our , and developed in partnership with Childnet, free of charge from 3to11February 2025.

  • Safer Internet Day teaching resourcesFind lesson plans, activities and helpful advice to teach primary and secondary students about web safety and the dangers of the internet.
