This resource introduces children to the colourful work of British Artist Peter Blake. Children will complete one activity that focuses on shapes and letters and one that tasks children to create an ‘I love… poster’ in the iconic style of Peter Blake. This resource is great for helping children to get to know each other and it works well as cover lesson material too. Just basic art materials are needed- a pencil and something to colour with. I have successfully used this with children in years 3,4 and 5

Day of the Dead is a two day Mexican celebration where the dead are honored and remembered. It is a time of joy and happiness, skulls are an important feature of the celebration and are seen everywhere. This resource includes five skulls that can be coloured and decorated. The designs are of varying difficulty levels and include a blank one for those that want to completely design their own skull. I have successfully used these templates with years 3,4,5 and 6 to create masks and bunting but they could also be used by both younger and older children. A brief introduction to the artwork and style of Edward Tingatinga. This resource is useful for anyone teaching African art in general, artwork from Tanzania or specifically the work of Edward Tingatinga and his followers. It is meant as an introduction and is a good starting point for creative projects.

Introduce the life and works of William Morris with this informative and engaging presentation. William Morris was one of the most influential designers of the 19th Century. He is most famous for his floral wallpaper designs which remain as popular today as they were 150 years ago. This presentation will teach children about who the artist was, his style, his inspiration, his techniques and his legacy along with providing many examples of his work to look at. This presentation works well as an introduction to the artist before moving on to other William Morris themed projects. This is a brilliant Winter themed art activity that will introduce children to the art and styles of twelve famous artists. Children will take inspiration from the artists to design snowmen. If working with a group you can give each person an artist card or a child can work through them alone. The aim of this activity is for children to create a poem using one of Picasso’s paintings as inspiration. This is a fun and engaging activity to get children to reflect on the past year and set some goals for the one ahead. To complete the winter themed activity children need to answer a series of questions and then colour the scarf in using their favourite colours. This is a great resource for tutor time and is suitable to use with all age groups

This is a fun art activity that introduces children to Impressionism and French artist Renoir. Children will first learn a bit about the artist and the art movement he was a founding member of before creating their own floral masterpieces. This resource includes: An artist introduction presentation An activity instruction presentation A lesson plan A template for those that need extra support This activity will also enable children to practice using tints and shades and develop their knowledge of colour and form. This resource has been successfully used with children in years 1 and 2 but would also work with older children too. Basic art supplies are needed for the activity- acrylic paint in black, white and three other colours to give children choice, paper, and a paintbrush for each child. (water is not required). The paintings once finished make a nice art display and are equally good for using as Valentines themed cards or gifts.

Anti-Bullying Week 2022 is coordinated in England and Wales by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. It will take place from 14 to 18 November 2022 and has the theme Reach Out. This fun art activity will enable children to think about how they can reach out and show kindness to others while developing their colouring skills and revising their knowledge of warm and cool colours. This resource is a one page printable and only minimal art supplies are needed- just something to colour in with! Suitable for all ages and abilities. This Remembrance Day themed art activity explores the four different colours of poppies that are currently in use (red black,purple and white) . Children will first learn about the colour and meaning of each poppy before designing their own version which could be used to represent all groups. Once designed the poppies could be cut out and made into a wreath or other display. I have successfully used this worksheet with years 3,4, 5 and 6 but it could also be used with younger and older children too.
