A detailed scheme of work on music videos focusing on the set product Vance Joy’s Riptide for A Level Eduqas Media Studies component 1 section A. All elements of the theoretical framework are covered as well as practice exam questions based on SAMS material. This also makes use of the Eduqas A Level Media text book and focuses on the wider music industry and wider products.
A full SOW (appox. 7 lessons) covering the basics on this set product which explores all areas of the A Level framework: media language, audience, representations, theory and exam style questions (not SAMS).
A full scheme of work of between 5-7 lessons on Tide for Component 1 Section A and B of the Eduqas A Level Media exam. Lesson cover: media language, representations, audience and look at and break down relevant theories (Van Zoonen, Gerbner, Stuart Hall, David Gauntlett).
Also included is an assessment which is a comparison exam question (similar to SAMS so this mark scheme can be used) comparing Tide with a 1950s Quality Street advert.

A number of lessons on a range of media theories and concepts from the Eduqas A Level Media Studies Specification (but could be used for any Media course!)
All of these lessons (excluding Dyer’s Star Theory) explore each theory in depth and focus on set products from the Eduqas specification but could be adapted and taught in relation to any media product.

This is a bank of active verbs for writing about, and analysing, media products and a bank of 'sentence starters' to help students integrate media theory into their analysis of media products. This is aimed at A Level media students and based on the Eduqas theoretical framework and set theories.

Approximately 3-5 lessons on nature poetry which is a subtle introduction to 'the Romantics' - this works well as a step into AQA GCSE poetry! Included are analysis and creative tasks aimed at higher ability year 8 but could be done with any KS3 class. Enjoy!
This is a small scheme off work for first year A Level media students. This is a 4/5 lesson introduction to textual analysis skills and some A Level theory from the theoretical framework (Barthes and Strauss). Can be adapted to use any print based media product and can be used to help develop skills of textual analysis.
A basic first lesson asking pupils to explore what Media is. Activities include looking at, and exploring, the main Media platforms.
Also includes WJEC course info but this could be changed for any exam board.
