This powerpoint compares Oldham and Llandudno but can be easily adapted to a different rural town to match your setting.
After they have been through the powerpoint we had the children looking for similarities and differences between the two towns.
This is a powerpoint on the Bauhaus. We were concentrating on architecture and looking at the simpleness of this building. We linked this to 3D shapes and nets of cubes and cuboids.
The children are then asked to create cuboids and make their own building as part of the lesson. links to art and maths.

This powerpoint is for KS2 it goes through the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb.
It starts by discussing who he is and why he is famous.
It introduces Howard Carter and Lord Carnavon and the dates at each point of the excavation.
It goes through each part of the tomb and what was found in each part, it has a map of each section.
This could be used as a stimulus for a topic session or for a writing session.
This powerpoint explains what happens when alcohol is drunk on different parts of the body.
It discusses the negative effects on the body and also the positive.
It has facts on ages alcohol can be drunk and when and how alcohol is made.
After the powerpoint i gave the children a copy of the body and the children labelled the key parts and what the impact of alcohol is on each of these parts.
This powerpoint explains the style of Tingatinga and then includes and activity where they use the style of Tingtinga to create their own paintings in his style.
Here are two differentiated worksheets on fractions. The higher ability sheet is two step problems and the middle ability is just one step.

African art - textiles
Kente (interwoven strips with geometric patterning)
Explains what Kente is and what each of the colours mean and what it represents.
Link to a you tube video to watch first.
Then there are screen shots of the video and step by step instructions in order to create their own version of kente by weaving strips of coloured paper and then wool with a thick needle. The children have to consider what colours they are going to use and what shapes to add to the piece.
This could possibly be two lessons depending on how quick the children complete the activity.
This powerpoint includes vocabulary slides of key words that i would expect the children to know.

This powerpoint has key vocabulary that i want the children to learn by the end of the session.
It discusses what law is and why we have laws in this country and this is linked to the school council.

This powerpoint gives a general background about animal species in the world, has an example of a classification of an animal.
then looks at how we classify them - plants and animals
vertebrates and invertebrates - this then branches off into the 5 main vetebrate and what makes them a mammal, fish, bird, reptile or amphibian.
Then it branches off the invetebrate into arachnid, molluscs and insects and what makes them these things.
A classification chart (vertebrates) is at the end and i would give them this to copy into their books to create their own classification key.
As a challenge i would get them to add in more questions to seperate the animals further.
The animsla i have included are african animals as that is our topic but could easily be swapped for other animals and it would still work
This powerpoint looks at the dessert and the rainforest areas of Africa. It discusses the climate in the area along with what animals you will find there, plants and climate change.
After this powerpoint we had the children writing a paragraph about each place and what the climate etc is like there.
included is a power point which goes through facts about modern Greece.
it includes maps, and general facts for e.g. religions, countries that border, climate, economy
Then there is a worksheet with a map of Greece with some questions linked to the map.
This powerpoint goes through how to keep our teeth healthy.
It recaps the name of each tooth.
It then discusses what happens to our teeth when we eat/drink sugary things.
has an experiment to complete with the children - eggs in sugary drink and water. What happens?
Once completed i would get the children to write up the experiment.
Lower and middle ability word problems. There are problems and bar modelling included so the children do not have to draw the bar.
I used this with children who are working within the year 1/2 curriculum.
Powerpoint includes three lessons -
sketch books - looking at different styles of masks and the patterns that are included within them. Children to practise their patterns and what they weant to include on their masks. I also got the children to practise mixing colours in this lesson aswell ready for the decorating session.

I completed this over four sessions due to waiting for the glue to dry and then the paint before we could decorate. Children really enjoyed this activity
