Ten Green Bottles to count and order (blank AND numbered)

What’s included? This download includes two A4 pdf sheet in landscape orientation to practise counting/ordering numbers to 10 along using ten green bottles. The same resource is provided as two versions - plain (numbers could be hand written onto these) and numbered 1 to 10. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? Ten green bottles plain AND blank to count, number and order. How to use this resource Learners can count the number of bottles any time/while singing the ‘ten green bottles’ song, they can hand write the numbers on themselves and/or order the numbered set - to 10 and back
as a challenge
This resource could be used during a group/class singing session - using blue tac/velcro (the old fashioned way!) to display the ten bottles and removing one each time. In my experience learners just love to be chosen to knock the next bottle (physically) to the ground - I have found this beats any online/animated version every single time! Important message

Halving to 12 Investigation Fruit (in order)

(0)
New online service coming soon with FREE downloads (including this resource) available! For more information visit https://alphabetlearning.online What’s included? This download includes one resource - two pages featuring x12 ‘half’ problems (using fruit/veg) to complete - each of the x12 questions involves sharing the total amount (from 1 to 12) into two equal groups - ‘halves’. The learner will discover which numbers between 1 and 12 can and cannot be halved and of those numbers which can be halved equally learners will identify how much ‘half’ is. What’s it for? This resource introduces learners to the concept of what ‘half’ is in a practical, systematic way using numbers under 12. Learners draw a line from each piece of fruit to the plate/s below until all pieces of fruit have been allocated to a plate. Where the number of pieces of fruit on the plates is the same that number can be split in ‘half’ and where the number of pieces of fruit on the plates is not the same - these numbers can not be split in half. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children and pupils in years one as well as older students needing additional support with their learning. Resource layout Learners draw a line from each fruit/veg to each ‘plate’ pictured below to systematically share out the total number of items (fruit/veg) each time until all have been shared (or not!) Where the total number is ‘even’ (and the fruit/veg can be shared out equally) the learner can write the number of fruit/veg on one plate (the ‘half’ amount) on the line underneath at the end of the question (e.g.) Half of 2 is
4. For the even numbers (which can successfully be split equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the green ‘tick’ displayed, for the odd numbers (which cannot be shared equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the red ‘cross’ displayed before moving on to the next question. At the end of the second sheet there are x12 matching questions about each individual number to recap on which of the numbers between 1 and 12 can/cannot be split equally into half. The colour of the box around each question correlates to the colour of the question completed above guiding the learner more clearly (visually) back to each question box above to check their finding if needed. Recommendations Small objects can be placed on top of each fruit/veg (I have successfully used small coloured matchsticks with this resource if these are not deemed a choking hazard for little learner/s). Once the correct number of matchsticks/items have been counted out onto each individual fruit/veg (above the plates) these can then be physically moved (again, as the learner says “One for you, one for me” out loud each time) to one of the plates. Wordsearch Question words (from high frequency word list)

(0)
What’s included? This download includes two pages (x2 A4 sheets, portrait orientation) featuring one ‘question words’ wordsearch (page 1). The answers (on page 2) clearly show where all words are hidden, displayed in the same layout (as page 1) for easy comparison and quick reference. Who’s it for? This wordsearch has been designed for pupils in years one and two and maybe the early years, as well as students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? This resource has been designed to encourage and support young learners with reading ‘high frequency’ key words. There are x24 words to find - a lot ! Resource layout The wordsearch letters are arranged in a x10 by x10 square grid and featuring easy to read size 25 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font. The question words have been organised into four groups of six, clearly showing all hidden words below the wordsearch. As said, there are x24 words to find in total. These words are hidden horizontally (forwards and backwards), vertically (up as well as down) and diagonally (forwards and backwards). Words to find are; can, are, could, should, would, why, do, don’t, did, is, will, must, have, how, who, has, was, may, what, when, were, where, which and whose. Recommendations I recommend that learners use a ‘highlighter’ style pen when finding the hidden words as highlighters enable all letters to remain visible once each word has been identified. Some letters have been used more than once (for different words) so all letters need to remain visible (if words are instead ‘crossed out’ this makes the letters harder to read and identify). This wordsearch may be printed and laminated to be reused. Important message

This wordsearch has been designed for pupils the early years, in years one and two, as well as students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? This resource has been designed to encourage and support young learners with reading common colour names. There are x24 words to find - a lot ! This simple, clear resource has been carefully designed to encourage young learners with reading common weather words. Resource layout The word search letters are arranged in a x10 by x10 square grid and featuring easy to read size 25 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font. The weather words have been organised into four groups of six, clearly showing all hidden words below the wordsearch. As said, there are x24 words to find in total. Words to find are; cold, frost, hail, ice, snow, sleet, cool, cloud, damp, drizzle, mist, shower, hot, dry, wet, rainbow, rain, sun, warm, fog, lightening, storm, thunder and wind. Recommendations I recommend that learners use a ‘highlighter’ style pen when finding the hidden words as highlighters enable all letters to remain visible once each word has been identified. New online service coming soon with FREE downloads (including this resource) available! For more information visit https://alphabetlearning.online What’s included? This download includes two A4, portrait sheets, pdf format. What’s it for? These resources are to practise counting up to x10 items (fruit), writing the total number of each group of fruit then recording ’one more’ OR ‘one less’ for each by either crossing out a piece of fruit (to find one less) or drawing an additional piece of fruit (to find ‘one more’). Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for children in the early years, pupils in year one as well as older students needing additional learning support. How to use this resource? For 'One more fruit’ Once learners have counted and written the total number of pieces of fruit in the centre box, learners can then draw ‘one more’ fruit for each group (a small amount of space is available for this) to make clear what ‘one more’ is before writing the total in the second box (on the right). There is a clear space to record the number date at the top right of the sheet and for learners to write their name (lower left). Important message

The sheets could be printed onto card and a split pin used to make an individual clock for each learner to move the hands and tell the time with. This resource could also be laminated and once cut out the numbers could have velcro-style dots attached to the back (and on clock face) to enable reuse and improve durability. Important message

Colours and colour names for window display

New online service coming soon with FREE downloads (including this resource) available! For more information visit https://alphabetlearning.online What’s included? This pdf download includes x3 landscape orientation sheets featuring x7 colour ‘splats’ with colour name labels with clear step by step instructions to create colourful acetate/cellophane colours for (window) display. What’s it for? These colours have been designed to install and sense of awe and wonder - the coloured shapes look beautiful when the sun shines through them and where the colour ‘falls’ depends on the position of the colours in relation to the sun which changes as the sun’s position changes. The set gives an opportunity to showcase the whole set of colours together as a focus to encourage learners to recognise and name each colour. The colours can of course be repositioned and displayed as you choose. A ‘Colours!’ label (to be displayed with the set of shapes) is included. This resource would also support work on shadows and light/dark. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students who would appreciate a pop of colour shining through when the sun comes out! Resource Details There are x3 pages. The first page includes clear instructions with two colours, the second page includes remaining colours in the set and the last page the ‘Colours!’ word label. The colours featured in this resource are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink and purple. Suggestions We recommend printing and making these letters out of white card - paper would be too flimsy and see-through so not effective. A set of coloured acetate/cellophane sheets is needed to make these - these are quite inexpensive online. We also recommend also backing every colour in white card so that the coloured acetate/cellophane is concealed - this looks so much nicer on the window and makes each letter stronger however is twice the work and time and to do this x6 sheets of A4 white card will be needed (instead of x3 sheets).
