From hydration to the immune system. From blood to blood pressure to blood types. Even including alcohol to sugar to vaccines. This bundle is great to teach your health / medicine / physical education class through some intriguing topics and drives clear structure when getting students to do research. Giving them some really important topics to consider such as resuscitation and general anesthesia which are challenging to engage with, but crucial in our modern world with improving medicine and sometimes urgent medical situations occurring.
These health / medicine research project templates (webquests) provides the perfect grab and go, print and provide resources that can help your students learn all about health / medical topics. For digital, you can provide a Google doc copy for ease of submission or a Microsoft word version as well. In these medical / health related research project templates (webquests) with questions to check comprehension and inspire scientific thinking. They gives a rich and supportive framework that can be tweaked as needed for students to support differentiation.
These health / medicine research project templates include:
Space for a one paragraph summary (that links to the 2 page science article also available on this topic - but does not have to).
Students should produce a mathematical connection, an engineering / technology connection, 2 interesting facts / stats.
5 glossary terms they should fill in with their own words (which also links to the science article also available)
3 thought provoking questions (ie: critical thinking questions) they must answer.
Finally, each template has 3 alternative thought provoking questions for younger students and 3 other alternative harder questions to extend high flying or older students. Giving you a total of 9 possible thought provoking questions that could be used with students to enhance their research and critical thinking.
Further, I have added a 1 page - 20 point rubric to be used for either self-assessment or teacher assessment as you deem fit. I hope it helps support the learning even further!
The template is some of my best work and I am proud to share it with you.

Hydration underpins concentration, endurance, temperature control, and even mood, so helping teens understand how water balance works equips them to perform better in class, on the field, and in everyday health decisions. A short and effective science reading passage - paired with comprehension questions - lays down the key biology and busts common myths, all while building critical-reading skills. From that foundation, a streamlined research-project template guides students through real-world inquiry: they could log their own fluid intake, test reaction-time changes after hydration, or evaluate local water-quality reports. A clear rubric then spells out expectations for meticulous measurements, credible sources, and effective communication. Together, the passage, questions, template, and rubric create a smooth arc from foundational knowledge to hands-on investigation, sharpening scientific literacy and empowering healthier habits. With this in mind, let’s engage with this excellent learning and teaching resource.

Grasping blood pressure - what systolic and diastolic numbers signal, how diet, stress, and exercise influence them, and why unchecked hypertension silently drives heart disease - gives middle and high schoolers a practical stake in their own cardiovascular health. A focused science reading passage with comprehension questions supplies a shared knowledge base and hones critical-reading skills by challenging students to interpret graphs and debunk myths. Building on that foundation, a streamlined research-project template guides them through hands-on inquiry - measuring peer or family readings (with consent), correlating results with lifestyle variables, and comparing them to public-health data - while a clear rubric spells out expectations for ethical data collection, potential analysis, and communication. Together, the passage, questions, template, and rubric form a cohesive pathway from fundamental understanding to active investigation, boosting scientific literacy and empowering teens to make heart-smart choices. With this in mind, let’s engage with this excellent learning and teaching resource.

Knowing blood types links classroom genetics to real-world transfusion safety, organ donation, and even disease resistance, showing students how a small antigen difference can save - or endanger - lives. A focused science reading passage with comprehension questions lays the factual groundwork and hones critical-reading skills by pushing learners to consider the type differences, decode medical terminology, and spot misconceptions. Learning how vaccines train the immune system and curb outbreaks equips middle and high schoolers with evidence-based tools to navigate a world of health claims and misinformation. A concise science reading passage - paired with comprehension questions - builds a shared factual foundation and sharpens literacy skills by asking students to analyze data, decode scientific language, and spot biases. From that springboard, a research-project template guides them through deeper inquiry - historical milestones, mechanism-of-action visuals, herd-immunity modeling, and ethical debates - while a rubric makes expectations for source quality, data interpretation, and communication transparent. Together, the passage, questions, template, and rubric create a seamless learning arc that turns passive reading into active investigation, cultivates critical-thinking and data-literacy skills, and empowers students to discuss vaccines confidently in their communities. With this in mind, let’s engage with this excellent learning and teaching resource.

This genetic traits probability sketch activity is perfect for teaching genetics related biology and the concept of Punnett squares. You can print or provide digital and with minimal equipment - all you need is a single coin per student pair / group to play this particular game and educate and entertain at the same time. There are 5 creatures provided and two levels of possible engagement so that you can bring the right level of Punnett square and probability related knowledge on the topic of dominant and recessive traits.
This activity is structured in such a way that students build their specific genetic vocabulary covering terms such as genotype, phenotype, gametes, dominant and recessive characteristics, heterozygotes, homozygotes and more. There are stunning visual worked into this activity to show the relevant dominant and recessive traits and provide inspiration for students.
For both the accessible and advanced levels students use a coin to figure out what traits the relevant creature will have (a fox, frog, rock hopper penguin, clown fish or pocket dragon of legend).
For the first level - an accessible resource - students will do two coin flips as both parents are always assumed to be heterozygotes in this level of engagement. They are then encourage to figure out the probability of their creatures exact characteristics occurring for all 5 characteristics of their creature and sketch it too.
For the second level - an advanced resource - They are similarly to sketch and work out probabilities, however additionally now students will use the coin flips to figure out the parent genotypes (FF, Ff or ff) ie: dominant homozygote, heterozygote or recessive homozygote and this adds a further layer of complexity. Making it more challenging and intriguing for students to do.

Imagine handing your class a vibrant, ready-to-go mouth-and-teeth science bundle that does the heavy lifting for you: it starts with an engaging reading-comprehension passage (paired with informative questions) that hits literacy standards while sneaking in core biology, then pivots to a plug-and-play research-project template that turns every student into a mini-scientist investigating topics from fluoride chemistry to the microbiome; layer in a critical-thinking framework that walks them through claim-evidence-reasoning so they can separate solid science from dental folklore; and finish with two crowd-pleasing activities - one set of 10 strange-but-true facts that make jaws drop (did you know enamel can survive a house fire?) and a fast-paced Two Truths and a Lie game that doubles as an instant formative check.
So… The result? Higher engagement, seamless cross-curricular coverage (ELA, STEM, and health), authentic research practice, and students who leave your room not just knowing what a cavity is but why everyday habits matter - sparking lifelong oral-health awareness while you effortlessly meet standards and look like a curriculum rock star. With this in mind, let’s engage with this excellent learning and teaching resource.
