My store has a range of resources in Speech and Language, SEND and Computing. It includes an Advanced form of 'Colourful Semantics' which I called 'Colourful Speech' which I developed to be used with one-to-one, small groups and whole class teaching it spans across the curriculum. It helps children to understand grammar and word groups as they progress through their learning journey. I love creating bespoke resources to help children with specific needs.

Literacy Bundle

This extensive bundle introduces you to my ‘Colourful Speech’. I started using Colourful Semantics with a group of children, however I found it difficult to integrate it with the whole class learning and progression through school. I developed Colourful Speech which I found to be more flexible. Starting with Simple Sentence Structure the children gain a knowledge of grammar which will develop as they progress. This Bundle Starts with High Frequency words and progresses through different Literacy areas such as Pronouns and sentence structure.

Social Story- Broken Pen (it was an accident)

Social Story- A story that helps a child to understand a situation or event. This is a story I wrote one evening for a six year old girl I was working with. It is very basic and the illustrations are very simple. It helped her to understand that, sometimes things just happen by accident. It helped her to understand that, sometimes people can misunderstand what has happened. It helped her to understand that, If we use the wrong body language, what we are thinking may not be clear. It helped her to understand that, when you have had time to think, you can chose a better way to explain. Writing bespoke stories, targeted at an individual child or group, can quickly deal with issues that arise. Stories shared in the classroom or at home helped us to work as a team. Bespoke, targeted, Speech and language resources address the needs of an individual child. It is vital that we teach our children to keep safe online. Hopefully by sharing this resource you can help to give your children the knowledge to keep themselves safe while enjoying the Internet. These resources have been developed over the last 11years but due to their nature, they are always a work in progress. It is part of my Communicating, Collaborating and E-Safety planning (DL-CCE) Children learn how to communicate and share information in a variety of different ways. They learn how to stay safe when using the Internet and how to keep personnel information private. They talk about current issues such as Cyber bullying/friendship, mobile phone use and sensible and safe use of all Technology. They also talk about being aware of how long they spend using this Technology and how they can take ownership of their usage. They discuss ‘The right to be unavailable’ and talk about turning off mobile phones and other devices. We try to help them understand that social networking is a wonderful way to communicate but that it can be time consuming and demanding if not used carefully. I hope these resources help you to ensure that your children have the knowledge to keep themselves safe and the tools to deal with problems or dangers that arise.

I created this Social story, Poem & Workbook about a pupil who is struggling with school to help the many children who are finding life difficult at the moment. It could be used in one to one, group or whole class situations. It includes a short open ended text, a poem, discussion cards and a workbook. This workbook is an irrefutable, supportive tool for children who are finding every day life challenging. It could be used with children who have missed school and support with transition due to covid, or children who are on the Autistic Spectrum or struggling with communication/Speech and Language, to talk through how they feel. It is an essential resource for educators packed with creative ideas and resources for busy teachers. It has easy to read content and a vast array of activities that support in teaching young people to identify and understand their feelings and sense of self. It supports discussion and empathy from different perspectives on how to live with difference, communicate well and develop a sense that they are part of a community. It could be used to help discuss Anti - bullying stratagies. Here is another of my mental health resources /teaching-resource/colour-monster-resource-pack-12408668
