A lesson covering the different types of Musical Textures students are required to know for GCSE Music. It includes a listening test/game at the end, buying the chocolate is optional!

PowerPoint and accompanying worksheet covering Contemporary Music of the British Isles, in line with AQA GCSE spec.
Whilst modes are briefly outlined, students no longer need to identify specific modes so I don’t go into loads of detail here.
There are audio examples and a question pulled from an AQA GCSE paper at the end to consolidate knowledge.
Two separate PowerPoints covering the basics of time signatures and metre, and the difference between simple and compound time signatures. Accompanying worksheet and listening test with examples.
A lesson I created to help pupils understand and be able to recognise and keep a steady pulse/beat.
It includes a composition/performance based activity and is aimed at Yr7/8 level.
You can use any piece of music you want for the listening example, but it must have a clear, steady beat that isn't too fast.
A PowerPoint outlining the main chord types students need to know for GCSE music. Particularly useful when attempting to broaden their knowledge of extended chords/harmony and getting them to apply these to their compositions.
There are accompanying worksheets and a chord challenge for them to try as well.
A PowerPoint and accompanying worksheet that covers the main musical structures required for GCSE Music. I have included one or more examples of each structure.
A lesson outlining the most common forms of FX and sonic components students might encounter studying GCSE music, with examples and a short test at the end.
A lesson I created to cover as many aspects of medieval music as I could.
It includes a performance based activity to be completed in groups (you will need the worksheet as well).
It is aimed at about Yr8/9 level.
Enjoy!
Some PowerPoints and samples I use to teach EDM to KS3 (Year 9).
We are using Logic Pro X (iMacs) at our school so if you don’t have these this won’t be useful.
I also use the traffic light system at the end of each PowerPoint to demonstrate to students how to do various things (use the drummer, use an arpeggiator etc.) so if you don’t know how to do these things you might not find this useful!
11 PowerPoints and accompanying worksheets that outline every key component in the teachers guide from AQA.
I’m uploading these for free as I’ve essentially used a combination of the teacher’s guide and ChatGPT to compile and create this resource. It still took a while and I’m hoping it will save some of you some time but they are a bit rough around the edges and will most likely need you to add your personal touch to them!
PowerPoints, workbook, audio files and questions for students for delivering Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the Queen set works on the AQA GCSE Music syllabus.
