Who is it for? GCSE students studying USA: Conflict at Home and Abroad What’s included? 10 separate exam planning sheets for the 12 mark ‘Explain why…’ question on the GCSE Edexcel History 9-1 paper. Why is it useful? This activity can be used at any stage in the GCSE course once knowledge of the topics has been covered; can be used both in class or as homework/revision. There is a wide variety of ‘Explain why…’ questions included with the content covering the entire course. This activity encourages knowledge retrieval and recall of the key features of the key features of USA: Conflict at Home and Abroad, with a focus on causation and reasons for. How do I use this resource? I use this resource for homework throughout the GCSE course and for revision practice so students can practice a number or ‘Explain why…’ questions in a shorter amount of time. This type of sheet has also been useful for after school revision sessions, and school holiday interventions. Please see my other resources. Feedback very welcome. Thankyou.

5 lists in 5 minutes: Norman England

Who is it for? GCSE students studying Anglo-Saxon and Norman England. What’s included? 5 separate PDF sheets of the 5 lists in 5 minutes activity. Why is it useful? This activity can be used at any stage in the GCSE course once knowledge of the topics has been covered; can be used both in class or as homework/revision. Topics in the 5 lists per sheet have been created with a focus on the GCSE Edexcel 9-1 specification (although could be used with other exam boards too) and taking into account what questions they will be expected to answer in the exam. This activity encourages knowledge retrieval and recall of the key features of Norman England. How do I use this resource? I use this resource as a starter activity. Students have 5 minutes to write down as much as hey know abut the topics in the list, followed by minute sharing and stealing from their partner. This is followed up by whole class discussion of the topics to ensure understanding and correcting any misconceptions. I use this same resource over and over again with the same classes to encourage regular knowledge recall of the topics. Please see my other resources. Feedback very welcome. Thankyou.
