This Elizabethan England / Tudor lesson investigates the challenges and problems Elizabeth I faced on her accession to the throne in 1558, including political, economic, religious, being a women / gender, legitimacy and foreign affairs. Students will study all these reasons before evaluating which was the greatest challenge to Elizabeth. This download includes a fully editable powerpoint with all activities, instructions, clip links and worksheets/information sheets you need. Students will look at key features of the castle as well as it’s history to answer a key question. This Medieval Life & Times lesson studies disasters that took place in the Middle Ages, including the Erfurt Latrine Disaster, the Syrian Earthquake of 1202, Great Famine of 1315-7, the Great Drowning of Men in 1362, the Black Death and the Year without Summer, 1258.
