This is a CPD resource to be used for training staff in how and when to deal with homophobic/ biphobic/ transphobic comments that take place in the classroom. The CPD could be sent out as an email, could be used in a 15/20 minute briefing, or used as part of a longer CPd session on inclusivity etc. It also discusses what constitutes LGBTQ+phobic behaviour and comments, how to recognise them and when to deal with them. There is some use of statistics from some Stonewall studies to show the prevalence of LGBTQ+phobic language, as well as on the impact of this on LGBTQ+ Students. Please Note: This resource will need some input from the user to reflect the behaviour policy/appropriate members of staff/appropriate sanctions etc (for example, if you use SIMs to record bullying as opposed to using CPOMs you will have to edit to reflect this) *

A lesson to be used in conjunction with the new SRE curriculum informing students about trans and non-binary and what those things mean. Includes lots of information slides plus lesson activities and a writing task at the end of the lesson, plus plenaries in the lesson and at the end. A great lesson for use with all secondary year groups to help them to understand trans and non-binary terms and pronouns.

There are 60+ LGBTQ+ Heroes on this powerpoint, including heroes from every subject. Each slide contains a picture of the person and a short biography of them and their life. People from all walks of life and all periods of history have been included to make the range of people as diverse as possible. A resource to be used in conjunction with the book “Prince and Knight” by Daniel Haack. A great LGBTQ+ friendly story, beautifully illustrated and engaging, which has many different layers in which to discuss. This resource includes example activities for before, during, and after reading, questions to ask during the reading of the book, and suggested activities to consolidate learning once the book has been finished. Aimed at early years and KS1, but could easily be adapted to work for KS2 if necessary. There is also scaffolding within the resource and use of Makaton signs to discuss emotions. Teacher notes at each stage of the resource guide the teacher and make suggestions. A great resource for anyone looking to add more diverse books and characters into their classroom but unsure of where to start or how to begin discussing these topics with younger students.

A really great way to brighten up your library, corridor or classroom and make your space feel like an inclusive space for all our LGBTQ Students. All books are suitabole for KS4 upwards, some will be suitable for KS3 also. the preview shows the lettering as plain black- please be aware the lettering is in fact rainbow stripes and not plain black. thank you!
