These posters serve as powerful tools to raise awareness, promote kindness, and foster a culture of respect among students. Awareness: Anti-bullying posters highlight the various forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, and cyberbullying. By educating students about these behaviors, they can better recognize and understand the impact of bullying on their peers. This can motivate them to stand against bullying and support their classmates. Prevention: Free anti-bullying posters often include clear messages and strategies for preventing bullying. They can empower students with the knowledge and tools to take action, whether it be reporting incidents or being an ally. Encouraging Kindness: Posters that promote kindness and positive behavior create an uplifting atmosphere. They can serve as daily reminders for students to practice empathy and compassion in their interactions with others. Clear Expectations: By displaying posters that outline the school’s anti-bullying policies and codes of conduct, educators can set clear expectations for behavior. This reinforces the idea that bullying will not be tolerated. Open Dialogue: Anti-bullying posters can spark conversations among students and teachers about the importance of respect and inclusion. This open dialogue fosters trust and encourages students to speak up about their experiences. Positive Role Models: Featuring quotes or images of role models who advocate against bullying can inspire students to emulate these behaviors. It shows that standing up for what is right is commendable. Community Building: By involving students in creating or selecting posters, educators can foster a sense of ownership and community. When students feel invested, they are more likely to adhere to the principles of kindness and respect. Visibility: The strategic placement of anti-bullying posters throughout the classroom ensures that messages are visible and constant. This reinforces the importance of creating a safe space for all students. Encouragement to Seek Help: Posters that provide information about resources, such as counselors or hotlines, remind students that help is available if they or someone they know is experiencing bullying. Teaching students how to run or hide in a terrorist attack - Child friendly booklet.

(0)
After the Paris terrorist attack, good advice came out from homeland security on what to do if you face an attack. However it was focused on adults and not child friendly. I thought I would create a simple book which explains to children what is now recommended in the case of an active shooter attack. You should however still point out that this is an incredibly unlikely event - but one students now need to be prepared for.

How to make your own plantable pencil

How to make your own plantable pencil

(0)
I have a dream. I want all pencils used in schools to contain tree or other plant seeds. I want children to use plantable pencils. I have developed my own very cheap, simple plantable pencils which could be made and used in the classroom. All you will require are: Some pasta with a hole in the middle, the width of a pencil School pencil Seeds A school book label which will be cut in half. From these simple resources, you will be able to make a plantable seed pencil. The children can then develop the idea. How can it be improved? How can it be decorated? What are the positives and benefits of such an idea. It is also a great tool for using in science when you wish to get childre to grow things in pots, as the pencil of course makes an instant label. Teachers and pupils who have already tried this have given me very positive feedback. The pencils I am using in the video are 100% recycled paper pencils - but any pencil will work perfectly well.
