Part of a complete unit on A-Z of Religion and Belief taught in my school as part of our core RE (non-examined) curriculum. These lessons have been planned by an RE specialist for delivery by non-specialists and as such are easy to work through and contain additional notes (see notes section of PPT) for non-specialists as required.
This is a 1 hour lesson planned by a specialist RE teacher for non specialists to deliver to KS4 non examined/core RE.
The issue of animal testing is considered from an ethical perspective using case studies. Students consider facts about the topic, arguments for and against, and are encouraged to come to a justified personal conclusion.
GCSE Taster lesson (100 mins) which addresses the reasons why RE is important, considers the links between RE and the real world and careers, provides a brief overview of the exam (Edexcel B but easy to adapt), and then provides a sample lesson based around the topic of utilitarianism.
1 hour standalone lesson looking at the origins of Paganism and the similarities between the Pagan festival of Yule and the Christian festival of Christmas.
