This is a detailed lesson and PowerPoint Explaining the current two main issues in cosmology, dark matter and dark energy. This lessson is designed to encourage pupils to think about what makes a good theory, it utilises the evolution of the theory of Gravity from Newton to Einstein as an examplar of this process and then describes the two main issues of an accelerating universe and spinning galaxies. This is the sixth lesson in the Space unit of work (P8). Ideas for differentiation, discussion, research and homework also included in lesson plan.
