PowerPoint animations describing three exciting experiments for an assembly. i) A no-handed mug catch ii) Non-popping balloon immune to candles iii) Floating teabags. I got students to perform the experiments. A script is included in the footnotes. The teabags work better launched from a paper surface - they seem to get stuck with heat-proof mats. I use these twenty four quiz question with mini-whiteboards to gauge students learning on circuit components, units, current and voltage rules and Ohm's law. Aimed at GCSE level.

Used at the very start of the AS momentum topic to help students to recap GCSE momentum concepts. There are three slides to print at different difficulty levels; normal, tricky and trickiest. Covers units, formulae, concept and calculations for momentum. The answers are included. An exemplar FREE Four in a Row game on Radioactivity is available to try before you buy. Four in a Row games on six other physics topics are available individually from my shop or as a bundle at a greatly reduced price. Four in a Row is a game for your whiteboard. Nothing needs to be printed or prepared to play this game. The game-play is somewhere between noughts and crosses and blockbusters. Two teams alternate, competing to correctly answer questions on the grid. The board is interactive - clicking tiles changes the colours and also reveals answers. X-Rays in Medicine Four in a Row is designed primarily for the AQA GCSE Physics/ Combined Science course but may be useful elsewhere.

A simple and very interactive way to introduce distance-time graphs. Challenge students to act out each of four graphs as the timer moves across. You will need to mark out an 8m stretch of classroom for them to move along. I use a high score table adding each competitor in turn. Animated correct answers are supplied as well as an embedded worksheet - a fun consolidation task.

Six splendid puzzles to display on your interactive whiteboard. These make great lesson starters and are an essential part of a teacher's toolkit. You probably already know the River Crossing puzzle. The puzzles are animated to make them very attention grabbing. No printing is needed; all the puzzles should be solvable without the need to write anything down. Very engaging and fun.

A carefully animated model for current and voltage. Current is represented by soldiers running along wires, voltage is the chocolate bars (energy) they transfer. The presentation contains an entertaining starter, a quiz and worksheets with answers to review learning. I have found the model to be very effective with a huge range of ability levels from year 7 to year 12.

An award winning IWB quiz game for two players/teams. The board is divided in half - both teams work simultaneously. The winning team is the first to answer seven questions in a row correctly.
