Stick Shapes: Angles - Properties of Shape - Outdoor Math
Sticks are a great resource when looking at shape, angles, and lines. These task cards / slides get your students building shapes using sticks based on a set of criteria (for example it must contain 2 right angles).
Using the task cards: Place the cards in your outdoor space for your students to find. They will then build the shape using sticks and either take a picture of it or draw their shape.
Slides: Students can take an I-pad outside and create the shapes using sticks, take a photo of their shapes, and upload it onto the correct slide.
Topics covered: - Right, acute, and obtuse angles, - Parallel lines, - Perpendicular lines

These fraction task cards will give your students loads of practice at recognizing and simplifying fractions when given a group of objects as they hunt for the task cards in your outdoor space.
This resource contains 14 task cards and differentiated answer sheets.
Diff. 1 - They musts simply work out the fraction.
Diff. 2 - They must work out the fraction as well as simplifying it if possible.
Some of the task cards requires resources to be left next to them in order for the students to complete the card. As you hide the fraction task cards around your outdoor space be sure to check what resources are needed next to each card.

Story Writing / Telling Game
Children will get lost in their imagination and creativity with this fun and engaging story telling / writing activity. It is a great way to practise creating exciting stories, thinking carefully about describing characters and settings.
The children must select one of each card (character, lives, problem, & solution) and base their stories around each of the cards. The children will absolutely love it!
We have used this very successfully for a few days worth of lessons. The children spend the first lesson playing with the cards and enjoying telling stories. They then choose four cards, stick them in their books, and do a big write based on those cards they have chosen.

Playground Battleships - Outdoor Coordinate Lesson
Playground Battleships is a great way to learn about, or recap finding coordinates on a one quadrant grid.
In pairs your class will play a large scale version of Battleships by drawing a grid using chalk and then using natural objects or chalk to keep track of when and where their ships have been hit.

Renewable Energy Research Booklet
This renewable energy student research booklet is a great project for students to carry out research and record facts on renewable energy solutions. They’ll create a page for each type where they must provide information, positives and negatives with space for a picture along with a front and back cover page. It’s perfect as a personal project or extension activity if you’re doing a sustainability topic.
This pack comes in both color and black and white as well as a blank template.
To create the booklet, cut each A4 page in half, hole punch the top corner, and use some string or treasury tags to hold them together.
