Using my knowledge as an exam board assessor for several years to help support your students to decode exam questions. This is a complete lesson ready to use just download, print and go!
Designed for teachers to deliver (specialist and non-specialists) but I have found more & more students need to access resources independently so my lessons are structured in a way that students can navigate for remote learning or to catch up on missed content. Can also be used for a flipped learning approach.
A brief summary of the lesson contents:
A range of interactive activities, including paired and independent tasks. The PowerPoint including fun activities delving into the meaning behind command words, worksheet 1 challenges students find command words, worksheet 2 (comes in a higher & foundation version) encourages students to look for clues in the questions and find the command words. Lots of exam style questions to practice build skills culminating in essential maths skills command word-based questions.
