This resource pack contains two booklets- the life cycle of a chick and the life cycle of an emperor penguin. They would be most suitable for upper KS1 or lower KS2, depending on the ability of your class. Both include literacy and WAU (science, history, geography in NI Curriculum) crosscurricular links.
This resource would be perfect to introduce centimetres and metres to KS1 pupils. It includes different images and children are asked if they would use centimetres or metres to measure the weight of it. I would suggest that each child uses fans, flashcards or simply a whiteboard so they can all take part. I promise you they will love it!
Pirate themed numeracy powerpoint to teach children about weight. Children are presented with different common objects and asked if they would use grams or kg to weigh them. I would suggest each child has a whiteboard, fan or flashcards so they all get a fair chance to participate in the lesson. I used this with a primary 3 class but this depends on the ability of the class.
This visual resource makes a great set of rules for remote learning. I use this on zoom calls at the start of each lesson, especially for younger children and refer back to them throughout the lesson if needs be. It really does work wonders!
Rules consist of: sit nicely in your chair, put your hand up before you speak, don’t talk while others are talking, listen to others, have respect and have fun.
Irish medium version also available.
Differentiated resource that can be used with different age groups for a variety of age groups. Great visual aid to support children with English as an additional language.
In this resource, you will find a large coloured function machine that could be used by the teacher to model the activity. I have printed and laminated this as an A3 sheet and attach to the whiteboard using bluetack. You will also find a set of smaller function machines that can be used by the children. They are black and white so the children can decorate them themselves and to save ink.
Pancake Tuesday/ Shrove Tuesday related numeracy lesson. Children are asked to add the price of toppings together to work out how much their pancake will cost. I would suggest that each child has a whiteboard so that they can all take part. So practical and everyone gets a chance to take part- what’s not to love?

An irish rhyming picture book to help children be calm, still and quiet. It uses the analogy of the frog because a frog can sit still and appreciate its surroundings, just as we would like our children to be able to do.
