A lively whole-group multi-skill language learning game. The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompt of the clock faces, makes it perfect for practising, reinforcing and refreshing how to tell time in French.
Laminate the cards if you can, as they’re more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years. There are 8 clock faces per page. The aim of the game is to arrange the clocks in the relevant order. Students will generally have several cards each, depending on the size of your class. It’s useful to set the cards on a table, so that students can see the timeline clearly. Playing in teams against a timer, using either a single challenge, or with both challenges together, is really popular, as students find the competitive element really motivating and are genuinely keen to see which team can finish first, and whether they can beat their own time record. The games also work well as pair or small-group games.
There are two games, each with a different challenge:
= Challenge 1: with all the the clock times in numerical order, J’ai… Qui a… ?

Word searches are a simple and effective way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in Italian, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. It focuses on 25 Italian Christmas words, which will also help to develop students’ awareness of some Italian-speaking countries Christmas traditions and figures, such as La Befana and Babbo Natale. The vocabulary is really useful for stimulating discussion about Italian Christmas practices and customs. Students also enjoy talking about other Christmas traditions they know or follow. The Italian Christmas vocabulary list features the definite article, though some grids also have the indefinite article / plurals for additional challenge.
There are 5 Italian to Italian grids, where students are prompted with the Italian words, and look for them in Italian in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features an English word list to complete. There are also 5 English to Italian grids, where the prompts are given in English. Students look for the Italian translation in the grid. They also write the Italian translation of the English word.
There is an answer grid for each word search, so that students can check their answers, or use for a little extra help if they need it. The answer keys help them develop independence in their learning, and also provide them with an additional opportunity to engage with the Italian vocabulary. The word searches and answer keys are in landscape format, with arrows indicating in which direction the individual words are located.
The word searches are useful in a range of learning contexts - as starters, refreshers, finishers, fun-time fillers and for sub / cover lessons at any time during the Christmas / Holiday season.

This set is aimed at advanced beginner and intermediate German students. It focuses not only on the core vocabulary of days, months and seasons, but also on key dates in the German calendar, including all national official holidays - Bundeseinheitliche Feiertage - and a range of other Feiertage and important dates, such as Faschingsdienstag and der Fall der Berliner Mauer. Many of these dates, both national and / or regional across German-speaking countries, are religious in origin, such as Karfreitag and Allerheiligen. This is a popular alternative to more traditional teacher-led presentations about German traditions, festivals and national holidays, and provides a really useful springboard and stimulus for class discussion and more comprehensive research.
The target vocabulary includes definite and indefinite articles, as well as ordinal numbers erst-, letzt-, zweit- and so on, increasing the challenge in a number of grids. The search questions are equally important: students have to apply their broader knowledge of German and Germany in order to know which word to search for in the grid, for example Alle vier Jahre gibt es ? or ? wird am 3. Oktober gefeiert?
The set features 10 differentiated word searches, with varying levels of challenge. Grids 1 and 2 feature German prompts and German responses in the grid. Students also complete a list of corresponding translations in English for additional consolidation. Grids 3,4, and 5 feature English prompts, which students translate into German, and then look for in the grid. Grids 6-10 feature a series of questions, which students have to answer before they can complete the search grid. For example ***Ein Jahr hat vier ?***, ? hat im Schaltjahr neunundzwanzig Tage and ***Der Tag der Deutschen Einheit ist am ?***. Grid 10 also features a range of dates such as 6. Januar to give students plenty of opportunity to practice the use of the full stop after the number in German dates.
There is an accompanying German national holidays and key dates list which students can also use as a longer-term reference resource.

Dominoes games are ideal for French class, providing students with an opportunity to learn and practice language entirely independently, either alone, or collaboratively in pairs or small groups. Students challenge themselves and each other to create a time-sequence line, on the classroom floor or on a long(ish) table, by matching the times and clock faces.
The games work well in various learning contexts, for example learn and practice during the introductory phase, refresh and revise throughout the school year and activities for sub / cover lessons. Playing in teams against a timer adds a popular competitive element, which students find really motivating.
The challenges can be easily identified by the corresponding number in the top left-hand corner of each individual domino. There is a certain amount of prep involved: printing, laminating and cutting out. Laminated dominoes are easier to manipulate and will remain in excellent condition for years, meaning you will be able to use them many times.
There are three games, each with a different level of challenge:

Ideal multi-skill language learning activity for developing listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling skills for Italian class. Bingo games are really easy to differentiate, and there is a range of differentiated grid formats to choose from: 12-square grids; 30-square grids; picture only and blend of words & pictures, providing learners with a real opportunity to practice all four language skills.
This set of Christmas bingo games comprises the following:
= 40 picture-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) You can give students a random selection of pages, with students selecting the order of grids they play from. You can also cut out the grids, and place them in a small bowl or similar object on tables. Students then select grids randomly from the bowl. For additional challenge, students can play all four grids in a single game. Depending on the size of your class, you can have several winners per game. Colour and BW.
= 40 words & pictures bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) Colour & B&W.
= 10 picture-only 30-square grids (A4 portrait format) Distribute the grids among students, several grids per student, which they choose randomly for every game. There should be several winners per game, depending on the size of the group. Colour & BW.
= 10 words & pictures 30-square grids (A4 portrait format) Color & BW.
= Calling card, featuring 32 Italian Christmas words. Print or photocopy double-sided to minimise prep. There are 8 check columns per page, so that you can really get the most from each card - call the words randomly, ticking them off as you go, so that you can check the winning grids. You can vary the use of the definite and indefinite article, singular or plural.
= Calling card, featuring the English translation of the Italian Christmas words. This is great for additional challenge - students hear the English word, and translate it quickly, looking for it in writing in Italian in the grid
These games are designed for players to cross off all the words or pictures on their grids in order to win the game - choose a Christmas-theme word or phrase as the winning word, and ensure that winners read out their completed grids in order to confirm the win: this also acts as additional language practice.

Word searches are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word, practising and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches, focusing on Numbers 0-31 in French, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. The searches offer a really useful learning opportunity - enabling learners to engage with the target vocabulary, but also aligning with cross-curricular learning - working on reading, writing, spelling, numeracy and French language skills in general.
Learners are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. As they move through the grids, their language skills are challenged in a range of ways - from straightforward vocabulary searching, to gap-fill, scrambled letters and more complex questions, which feature mathematical language in French. Hyphens are important in French numbers, and the grids feature these quite clearly, in order to ensure that learners can practice this aspect of language.
There is an answer grid for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. For me, answer keys are essential, as they not only provide learners with another opportunity to engage with language, but they also help them develop more independence in their learning. They’re also a great teacher time-saver - a real bonus!
There is a single word search per page, portrait format. I like to ensure that text is accessible to all learners - and at this stage of their learning, it’s absolutely essential that language looks accessible and manageable.
There are two formats to choose from - the search grids and answer keys as separate worksheets, and also a file with both grids and answer keys together, so that you can print each grid and key double-sided, according to which suits your classroom needs better.

Ideal for cross-curricular learning in German class: students can develop their knowledge of the geography of Europe in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. At the same time, students are developing their German language skills: speaking, listening and reading in particular, as well as broadening their German vocabulary. Play both as a whole-group team quiz, and in pairs or small groups on a regular basis - students are particularly keen to see if they can beat their own points record, and are really motivated by their developing knowledge.
The set contains all European countries and capital cities, including some island communities such as the Faroe Islands and Guernsey. Each question has 4 answers to choose from. The correct answer is given in capital letters. The quiz cards are numbered, but questions can be asked in random order too: simply place all the cards in a bowl, box or tin, and work your way through.
There are two quiz challenges:
= Challenge 1 gives the country as a prompt, with four possible capital cities to choose from.
= Challenge 2 gives the capital city as a prompt, with four possible countries to choose from. This challenge uses the definite article in the responses to help consolidate students’ knowledge of the gender of individual countries and the use of the dative following the preposition von.
The card numbers for Challenge 1 are in the top right-hand corner; Challenge 2 in the top left-hand corner so that the cards can be organised and sorted easily. Laminate the cards if possible: they’re more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years.
Before playing, it’s useful to show students a map of Europe, so that they can visualize the location of each country and capital city, not only as an individual location with Europe, but also as a location in relation to other European countries and capital cities. This definitely helps students understand and memorise the countries and capital cities.
