Can be adapted for higher/lower ability classes. State that chemical reactions can only occur when a collision occurs with enough energy. Describe how surface area of a solid can be increased. List the factors that can affect the rate of a chemical reaction. Calculate rates of reaction This lesson focuses on the calculation side, something students are generally weaker on, with the practical following next lesson. Fully differentiated and scaffolded to support with examplar answer to make peer/ self assessment a big part of your lesson.
