Fully made lesson on controlling reproduction and types of contraceptions suitable for GCSE OCR specification.
Starts with a defintion for fertility and then goes on to talk about the hormones involved in the menstrual cycle and what can be done to prevent pregnancy. Then gives students a chance to use resources (e.g computer/laptops, leaflets, medicine packs) to evaluate the pros and cons of certain contraceptive methods.
Full lesson suitable for GCSE on Treating Infertility. Lesson begins with simple CLOZE exercise and then gets students to discuss how infertility may be treated in men and women and the ethical complications behind it. Links to videos for students to watch to help them gather ideas.
GCSE lesson on cracking hydrocarbons in crude oil. Starts with recall of naming simple alkanes and then goes onto develop understanding of alkenes and how they are formed from the cracking process.
Lesson 2 in the OCR Gateway B3 topic about Reflexes.
This lesson focuses on reflexes and the reflex arc and a practical to measure reaction times which can be edited to suit your classroom. It includes a 6 mark question with scaffolding for SEN if needed.
This lesson covers the endocrine system for the B3 OCR Gateway scheme of work. It covers the defintion and function of various hormones and glands in the body and gives students a chance to gather information using textbooks/laptops/ipads.
It also includes an exam question to use as a plenary

Done with my lower ability class so may need some editing for higher acheiving pupils

Covers the first lesson in the Nervous System topic for B3. Lesson starts by discssuing the importance of senses and why we need to respond to our environment. It then moves on to talk about the structure of neurones and describes how a coordinated response works and the pathways taken.
