A simple interactive Powerpoint game to support teaching and learning of number bonds to 10 with a Halloween theme.
Children count the spiders and click on the correct digit to show how many more spiders make 10.
A simple interactive powerpoint to develop children’s recall of number bonds to 10 with a Christmas theme. Children will be asked to say how many more spots to make 10. Children click the matching digit on the number line. There are 20 slides for children to complete.
Easter Chicks Subitising Seven or NOT 7 is a simple interactive whiteboard game to develop early perceptual and conceptual subitising skills. Children are presented with varying arrangements of Easter chicks. Ask: How many can you see? How do you see it? Children identify whether there are 7 chicks or NOT seven by clicking on the correct answer card i.e., 7 or not seven. For example, I can see that 3 and 4 make seven etc…
The game is 27 slides in length and fully editable to create other amounts.
Children can pair up with a partner to play the game during continuous provision by holding up 7 fingers or not. Their partner identifies whether they are showing 7 or not. Children can arrange easter chicks in as many different patterns as possible. Ask: How many different ways can we make 7?

A simple interactive white board activity/maths game that is great for modelling counting back from 10, The slides are fully interactive and the activity links well with White Rose Spring term planning session 6 “Counting back from 10 - Ten in a Bed”.
Children are presented with a variety of different cartoon animals in the bed and explore what would be one less by counting back from 10 using the Ten in a Bed nursery rhyme.
Following this different numbers of animals are presented in the bed. Children need to count the number of animals in the bed and click on the matching digit card.
Larger images of all the animals included in the Powerpoint are included at the end of the slides. These can be made into puppets which can be printed off and laminated for exploration in whole class provision or works well as a small group activity. Children can use their puppets to show how many animals are in the bed and practice counting back from 10.

Children are presented with dominoes showing different arrangements of six, seven and eight spots. Children are invited to see how many spots are presented by applying their conceptual subitising skills. Children show the answer with their fingers, write the matching calculation on small individual whiteboards and/or click on the matching symbolic number card. This game fits well with WhiteRose Maths Spring Term Unit Growing 6, 7, 8 and is easy editable (32 slides in length). This game provides a good mental Maths starter and explores different arrangements of making six, seven and eight. Santa has written numbers on the door of each house so he can match the right amount of presents to each family. Children are invited to count the number of presents shown in each ten-frame and click on the matching amount shown on the doors of the house. A super simple IWB maths game to support teaching and learning of numbers within ten. (30 slides in length)
To follow up, children could make houses from cardboard boxes and write on the numbers of presents to be delivered during continuous provision. This activity fits well with WhiteRose Maths planning for the Autumn term. This activity is easily adapted to calculate one more or one less present.

A simple IWB Maths Game to support the development of children’s early conceptual subitising and addition skills within ten. Children are presented with various domino arrangements (total amounts from six to ten) and say the number of spots they can see altogether. Help the Dinosaur count the spots. Children calculate the total amount of spots and click on the matching number card to reveal the answer. Although this IWB Maths game is not endorsed by WRM, it is strongly aligned to the EYFS Spring Term WhiteRose Maths Units Growing 6,7,8 and Building 9 and 10.
This IWB Maths game works well as part of whole class teaching and learning or as a small adult-led guided group session.
