The files include posters for a ‘Psychflix’ display. For each film or box-set there is a short description, the units it links to for A level Psychology and a QR code which takes the student to a trailer for the film or an article. (To scan the QR codes, just open the camera on your phone and point it at the code; most phones will pick up the code and take you straight the link). There are some ‘stretch and challenge’ questions so that students can watch the films while considering an issue such as ‘free will-determinism’ and challenge themselves to answer the questions. Psychflix: I got the font online (it allows you to print off single words) and then printed it out on A3 paper. I cut out the letters and glued them to black card. I then stapled this onto the notice board. YOU WILL NEED BLACK BACKING PAPER FOR YOUR NOTICE BOARD AND A STAPLE GUN. The PowerPoint is designed to be taught during lesson time and should take between 3-4 hours. This PowerPoint is for the essay "Discuss two biological explanations for anorexia". Each slides represents a paragraph of the essay and has the full model essay slide by slide. The pictures are to help you remember each point and there are some memory pegs. There is an activity for students to complete to help them remember the essay and at the end of the PowerPoint is a Memory Story.

This is the PowerPoint to accompany the video available on the YouTube channel 'Psychology Students' entitled 'Discuss the Relationship between sexual selection and human reproductive behaviour'. The video and PowerPoint cover everything you need for the full model essay (24 marks) and in the notes section of the PowerPoint (under each slide) are the paragraphs for the essay which you can easily cut and paste into the full essay. A2 Eating Behaviour. PowerPoint to cover the full exam question 'Discuss two or more neural mechanisms in controlling eating behaviour' (24 marks). The Telepathy Experiment allows A Level psychology students to learn and practice research methods. It is aimed more at Year 2 of A Level. The video is a ficticious story about a telepathy experiment that did not go according to plan. It would also suit any subject that needs to know how to identify, calculate and interpret Measures of Central Tendency and Measures of Dispersion. The stimulus for the assessment questions is based on the concentric star experiment performed by HM. I’m sure you’re familiar with this experiment, but just in case you’re not… HM had his hippocampus removed to cure his epilepsy, however, it destroyed his ability to form new episodic and semantic memories. He performed an experiment where he was required to draw between the lines of concentric stars using only his reflection in a mirror (a tricky task). He got better at the task despite not remembering having ever done it. It provided evidence for a third type of long term memory - procedural, often referred to as ‘muscle memory’. I usually use narrow margins for my Word documents, so if the formatting seems a bit out, then change the margins to narrow. This handy revisoin timetable (Gannt Chart format) allows students to plan their own revision timetable from now until the exams in May 2019. Print onto A3 paper (single sided). The dates are split into Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sunday. They can then check every Monday and Friday to see what topics they will be revision over the next few days. They decide what when they will revise each topic from the specification, however, I have put them in the order that I recommend they start (eg starting with research methods which can come into any section.) Planning the revision could be done as a directed study task, or completed during tutorial time with help from the teacher. They should put their Gannt Chart up on a notice board (or bedroom wall) where they can easily check it every Monday and Friday to stay on track. A handy front sheet with formulas for Percentage Increase and Decrease AND a writing template for interpreting Descriptive Statistics (Measures of Central Tendency and Measures of Dispersion). Designed as a practice and assessment activity that I give to my students as homework. The mark scheme allows for quick and easy peer marking.
