Ppt introduces school subjects, parts of the day and recaps days of the week so that students can talk at length about what they study and when. By the end of the unit, students will be able to also say what their favourite day is and why. Ppt includes a number of starter activity ideas plus 2 different vocab tests. You will find vocabulary for students to be able to say how their holiday was using both ‘lo pasé’ and ‘fue’ with a range of adjectives and subsequent reasons to justify these opinions. This is the last sub-unit within Module 1, so it will build on previous knowledge. You will find plenty of vocabulary for students to be able to give opinions on stuff they like and dislike and why (to stretch high attainers), adding recycled language from previous years (free-time activities) on top of what the textbook offers. Ppt contains vocab sheets if you print these for your ss; vocab tests and ideas to put all skills into practice. A very complete lesson based on the Mira 2 express textbook, unit 1 “Presentaciones”, containing a range of different activities to do with your class. It also comes with a worksheet to practise the verb “gustar” , a vocab test, another activity to practise opinion phrases with infinitives, an extra listening activity, and a vocabulary grid to work on.

4 activities designed to introduce how to describe siblings in terms of saying what their names and age are and to show students how to give a short opinion on them. This is to be used, ideally, after teaching children how to say how many siblings they have, and whether they’re older or younger. The document includes a dialogue for students to put in order, a quick vocab task based on words from said dialogue, and a collaborative listening tasks for students to be the speakers. Students will be able to create their own dialogue by the end of the lesson.

A booklet full of idioms arranged in topics following the Edexcel Spanish IGCSE 9-1 specification that able students can use to achieve a grade 9 in their examinations. Example: topic 1B: ser pan comido - to be a piece of cake. ‘El examen de ciencias fue pan comido; estoy seguro que voy a sacar un 100%’ I’ve used this resource for a year with my top set year 11 class and they’ve found it extremely handy to learn one or two idioms per topic to then use in their speaking and writing to ensure they tick the boxes for a good grade.

A small project designed for KS3 students who have studied the holiday topic—this task gets them to plan a holiday to a Spanish-speaking destination. It works well in small groups or pairs. Students can be given a boarding pass with a destination and date on it, or they can decide for themselves. With this, they’ll need to plan a holiday, taking into account: -Accommodation -Weather forecast -Clothing and other items they’ll need to bring -A full itinerary -Useful local information (food, traditions, currency, etc.) -Budget As you can see, it links to a few relevant topics within the scheme of work and works a treat to round off the year with something a bit more creative and relaxed.
