This is a lovely powerpoint which gives information about the KS1 SATs. Includes examples of SATs papers and clear explanations to make the meeting with parents that little bit easier.

These are gorgeous writing activities based on a Christmas theme. Ten things in an elf’s pocket focuses on things that can be found with senses. The eight things found in Santa’s sleigh can be just a list of common or unusual items. Examples are given and both activities include planning sheets and writing templates.

EYFS, SEN & KS1 Read Trace Write sheets for Phonics Phase 2 CVC words. This is a lovely activity for children in their first stages of development in reading and writing. The activity includes clear, bright illustrations and photographs to support children in their recognition and sounding out of the words. The Phase 2 words shown on the cards should be sounded out and read first, then they can be traced by the learners. The letters and sounds which make up each word can be then written in the grids provided. Encourage children to also look at the shape of the words as this does help when writing the words themselves.

These are gorgeous ID badges, which can be used for children in Year 2 as their SATs tests begin to approach. FREE to download. Can be used when doing special SATs preparation, the Secret Agent ID cards can be worn to show they are on a special assignment, to help to make the SATs just a little less stressful.

To celebrate Roald Dahl day, we want to give something to teachers and educators, who are preparing activities to mark the great achievements from the story telling genius. We have designed 16 fantastic activities, based around familiar stories. Some activities are suitable for EYFS/SEN and KS1 children, others are suitable for children in KS2. There are a range of exciting science experiments for a selection of characters from familiar stories, there is a crossword, a wordsearch and some revolting rhyme ideas. We have even included matching cards which can be played where two of the same need to be matched for younger learners, but then we have designed a higher level matching cards game, which takes a little more thinking about, matching 2 objects that relate to particular stories written by Roald Dahl. Support children in their pencil control when beginning the early stages in writing. Use alongside motor skills activities such as threading, painting, cutting and sticking etc, to build up muscles and build up control. Great for learners with SEN who have difficulty with writing and EYFS learners.

This is a great tried and tested activity to support learners with SEN who struggle with phonics. Seeing the letter shapes and having a visual of the picture and the whole word can often lead to great results. Laminate the word boards and the letters and allow learners to select the correct letters to match the word. A great first step in reading and writing for children working at P levels.
