We are seeking an Adviser, Student Support Services to join the team at the ESF Centre. The role will begin in January 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start.

The Adviser, Student Support Services works across all ESF schools. The adviser:

• Advocates, in line with the vision and mission, for all ESF educational establishments to be joyful learning environments aimed at allowing every student to be the best they can be;
• Supports the ongoing development of inclusive practices and student support across the Foundation;
• Provides school-based advice and support to build the capacity to meet the learning needs of a diverse range of students across all phases, with a particular focus on secondary education (Y7–13);
• Takes a leading role in the Admission and Review Process;
• Adds demonstrable value to the Foundation's Student Support Services.

While this role supports inclusive education across all phases (K–13), it has a particular strategic and operational emphasis on secondary education.

Main Accountabilities:

The Adviser works in partnership with the Student Support Services team and acts as a point of liaison between ESF Schools and the ESF Head of Education Student Support to;

• Establish a partnership relationship with ESF Schools to ensure staff are supported in meeting children’s learning needs and that staff understand the expectations of them related to inclusion and learning diversity.
• Provide advice and support to schools regarding differentiation and curriculum modification across all phases, with a focus on secondary pathways, including alternative curricula and post-16 transitions for students with a diverse range of needs.
• Provide advice and support to schools related to individual students to enhance their opportunities for inclusion. 
• Oversee the operation and development of the Career Development Service to enhance work experience opportunities for post-16 students, contributing to the Foundation’s strategic approach to secondary inclusion.
• Manage and maintain systems and procedures to facilitate effective transition at key points from K-13, particularly Y6 to Y7.
• Act as a panel member for the Admissions and Review Process (ARP).
• Support the Head of Education, Student Support with procedures and communications related to the Admission and Review Process (ARP). 
• Support the Head of Education, Student Support with the placement of students in Learning Support and Jockey Club Sarah Roe School, and work alongside schools to enable successful transitions.
• Support the development and implementation of strategy, policies and procedures related to learning diversity and student support from K-13 and provide advice to schools to meet ESF policy and procedural obligations. 
• Lead projects, initiatives and CPD to build capacity and enable inclusive approaches to meet the learning needs of students and to contribute to the development of inclusive school cultures and practices.
• Co-facilitate the Learning Diversity Network (LDN) across the Foundation and lead LDN working groups.
• Prepare reports, briefings and correspondence as requested by the Head of Education, Student Support and ESF SMT.
• Any other reasonable activity at the request of the Head of Education Student Support.

Requirements:

• Teaching qualifications and successful school-based experience within Y7-13 is mandatory.
• Additional qualification in special education, inclusion or student support is highly desirable. 
• At least four years minimum in leading the provision of inclusive education, special education and/or other student support services, at the Secondary level.
