Drag& Drop Functional Group with formulae

This is a variation of my ‘drag and drop functional group’ activity. In this case you drag the structural formula to the correct name of the functional group. If it is correct it will stick, otherwise it won’t. Could be used around the whiteboard as a quick AFL. This is a simple html5 document- simply double click on the html file and it will load in your web browser. (nb because the table is long, you may have to zoom out in your web browser to complete.) ** Please note:** in order to provide a rich interactive experience, my interactive resources are mini-web sites local to your computer. After unzipping, they comprise a folder containing the main .html file and another folder containing the graphic resources and my coding to make the resource work. Double click on the .html file and the resource will work. If, however , you move or delete any of the files from this hierarchy, the resource will not work.

I made a wacky interactive widget thingy to illustrate the gas laws. Change the property with the slider and it draws the graph. Just for fun really. A preview may be seen on my web site. Recognising the Type of Reaction

Recognising the Type of Reaction

(0)
One of the most useful skills in answering many GCSE chemistry questions is to work out what type of reaction is involved in the question. This helps you work out what the products may be, but also answer other questions about the reaction. Students often find this very difficult, mainly due to a lack of practice and experience. This simple information sheet with questions at the back is in black and white so can be readily photocopied.

I made an intertactive widget thingy with multiple choice questions about KS 4 chemistry. Point at the correct answer and click. Instant feedback provided. 20 fun questions. Please note: in order to provide a rich interactive experience, my interactive resources are mini-web sites local to your computer. After unzipping, they comprise a folder containing the main .html file and another folder containing the graphic resources and my coding to make the resource work. One of my wacky videos illustrating the difference in reactivity of benzene vs phenol in terms of polarising power.
