I added a set of 30 photos about travel and a set of 31 fabulous teaching activities. I love to get the students really talking about an issue. I saw another teacher do it and thought that this looks really effective. My Walk to School Week teaching resources are designed to get the students to think about why we should walk to school, what are the alternatives and the benefits and the costs of walking to school using different modes of transport. They are also designed to get students really talking, listening and expressing their own ideas. My teaching resources could be printed out and made into an eye catching, thought provoking display or used as a whole class discussion stimulus. I am now making a new series of resources like this, so that teachers and students can get a lot more out of every lesson.

I have used a wide range of inspirations to create a fun conversation starting lesson about Christian Aid week. This lesson looks at different issues which may be covered in Christian Aid week such as what is war, what is peace, what is a home and how we can help our fellow man, woman and child. I have started using conversation starters in my own lessons with great effect and I think you will also enjoy using them in your own lessons. As stated in the presentation, while these resources will help you present your Christian Aid week lessons in class, I have no connection with Christian Aid.

Want to inspire your students? These pictures form the basic parts of a story to get them thinking. The pictures can be simply mixed up to change the story. The different pictures from the different stories could all be mixed up to create a really interesting mash-up of different stories. A real challenge is to see if a class can create a whole story from all the different images in the presentation!

This is a fun PowerPoint which has different shadows. The students need to name what is making the shadow and also what time of day might this photos have been taken. It is a nice class warm up or fun end of lesson game.

The students can take these images and mix them up to create their own stories. There are two different ways of using this resource. You would separate the stories out, as I have done, or simple go wild, print them all out, laminate them and shuffle them and then use them as a starting point for student's own stories. The real challenge is to see if a class can use them all and still make a coherent story!

I have created a visual version of the Ourselves topic using all the key keywords a student needs to be able to recognise, use and say. It is a perfect way of either creating a instant display or as a warm up, review or revision of a topic. The pictures are colourful and will help to promote conversation in the classroom.
