YES, we want our comprehension lessons to be rigorous in preparation for the SATs, BUT we also want them to be engaging and fun!

Lesson 1
Explore the author Gabrielle Kent. Then jump straight into the action at page 100 and encourage the children to make a list of what questions they are left with.
Lesson 2
Pre-teach tricky vocabulary with images. Read chapter one and ask the children to consider some key questions, drawing on what they have read.
Lesson 3
Finally, encourage the children to consider any unanswered questions the previous chapter raises about each character and record their ideas.
