This listening activity works with a great free online resource through YouTube called “Buena Gente.†There are six episodes and each is between approximately 4-10 minutes long. Follow SofÃa and Mateo on a journey where they attempt to find the owner of some very important belongings left behind in their new apartment! All episodes are based in Mexico.
I recommend this activity for students in grades 5 or higher, with at least one full year of Spanish. (This material reinforces grammatical concepts typically covered in a Spanish 1 & 2 HS course.)
These listening exercises are a great way for students to practice comprehension, learn new vocabulary, and discuss grammatical concepts like preterite vs. imperfect, the use of the subjunctive, the future tense, and more! The actors speak very slowly and clearly. I recommend showing these videos with the Spanish subtitles on for the first time and without them the second or third time. After watching, have students work alone or in groups to answer the questions. Review answers with the class to work on pronunciation and to answer any questions. A great tool to reinforce learning!
Worksheets for each episode include a review of verbs, vocabulary introduced in the video, true & false questions, fill-in-the-blanks, question & answer or multiple choice.

Show the following video to your students: “Soy un Muñeco de Nieve†by Super Simple Español. Then, after watching the video, have them color and cut out the pictures. Finally, have your students paste the pictures in order and practice the simple story/song.
Use the page at the end to make a snowman mask!
This interactive activity will help your students understand conjugation starting with regular Spanish verbs in the present tense. (Great activity for hands-on learners!)
Help students understand this concept with a hands-on activity that will help them understand how to conjugate regular Spanish verbs using this analogy:
Build your house.
Add the correct endings to the stem of the verbs.
Put the people in the house.
Directions for activity:
Print out the next 3 pages, (one set per student).
Have students cut along the DOTTED lines.
Paste the verb endings into the “house†as illustrated.
Cut out individual rectangles of the personal pronouns and carefully staple each personal pronoun along the outer edge of the house over the top of the corresponding endings.
Finally, practice conjugating regular AR / ER / IR verbs using the list of regular verbs at the end.
(Use the illustration included as a guide.)

This is a fun activity for students to help them learn how to describe the weather in Spanish! This is a fun craft that can be used for all beginning Spanish students from Kindergarten and up! The only skills required are that the students know how to read and to draw. The activity takes about 1 hour to complete and can be used every day to help students remember how to describe the weather on any day of the year! Fun, easy, and extremely helpful!
Note! There are two versions of this activity. One that is more advanced and one that is more basic. Use the one that is most appropriate for your students!

This is a fun game played with a single dice used to teach students the names of common food items in a fun, interactive way! In order to play this game, students should first be familiar with basic food vocabulary in Spanish. There are six categories and the first five include 12 food items in each:
Fruits or “FRUTAâ€
Vegetables or “VERDURAâ€
Main Dish or “PLATO PRINCIPALâ€
Drink or “BEBIDAâ€
Dessert or “POSTREâ€
If a player rolls a 6, he/she loses one item to the ants!
Directions:
For the game board, choose one of two pages, (one for a smaller, paper saving option and one for a larger option). Print out enough so that you have one per player or team. Laminate for durability.
Print out pages 4 & 5, front-to-back and keep as a reference for game play.
Print out the food cards on cardstock, (12 of each category), and cut along the lines, (pages 7-11).
For this game you will need:
One dice
Place setting, (one per player/team, small or large)
Food flashcards, (printed on cardstock)

How to Play…
The object of this game is to be the first to collect at least one food item from each category before the ants take something away! The first player starts by rolling the dice. For a “1â€, choose a fruit, “2†a vegetable, “3†a main dish, “4†a drink, and “5†a dessert. If a player rolls a “6â€, he or she loses one item to the ants! If a player already has an item from a certain category, he/she may collect another for up to 2 items per category. For a more difficult game, the players must use the correct Spanish word for each item in order to collect it. If a player does not know any of the items or says the name incorrectly, the teacher should say the correct name out loud and move on to the next player. For a more simple game, teach the Spanish word for each item that is chosen to the players as review. The first player that collects a food item from each category is the winner.
Recommended number of players or partner teams, 4-5.
Who doesn’t like to play Pictionary?
This board game is a high-energy, always-a-hit game to play with your Spanish class. This game plays like the classic game of “Pictionary†only in this case, it is used to reinforce Spanish vocabulary! Students break up into two teams and try to out-guess each other when one of their team members attempts to draw a picture of a Spanish vocabulary word. Teams have only 60 seconds to guess what the drawing is in Spanish!
