A full half term (7 weeks) of start of day activities for Year 1 pupils. Slides follow the Year 1 National Curricullum (UK) for Phonics, English and Maths. A gentle introduction to the year with a whole set of morning work. Pages reinforce phonic initial sounds, small steps in maths and EYFS/Year 1 CEW. The document is a Power Point presentation and I have left it editable so you can add or remove content. However, please note that reproduction or resale of the product is not permitted.

An interactive version of a cut and stick. Children can come to the white board and move the correct digit to the corresponding picture. Document is a Power Point presentation which should be used in edit mode - not display mode. Can also be used individually as part of an intervention. Great transition or early autumn term activity.

Watermelon themed tens frames where the children work out the number of water melons on the tens frame and then hunt for the card with the correct number on. Then they work out the number on the tens frame on that card and hunt for that number and so on. If they get them all right, they should get back to the beginning. Helps with number recognition and counting. A great transition activity. A self checking answer sheet is included.

A round robin type game where you can place cards around the classroom. Children can start at any card and have to hunt for the card with the correct answer. Once they get back to their first answer they know they have completed all of the cards correctly. A self-checking answer sheet is also included.

Children to read the day of the week and complete the columns for yesterday and today.

A great transition day activity for EYFS-Year 1 or a starting out activity for new Year 1 pupils. Can also be used to reinforce number recognition as an intervention.
