GCSE Engineering Component 1&2 resource bundle. There are five PowerPoints in total, each PowerPoint covers a learning aim - Two for Component 1 (Learning aim A and B), and three for Component 2 (Learning aim A,B and C. Together, these make up the entirety of the non examined assessment of the Pearson/BTEC Engineering GCSE qualification. The resources are clearly developed to allow the students to use them as work booklets. Each component resource has been developed based on the suggested briefs from Pearson. The tasks on each PowerPoint can be completed using the guidance/sentence starters on each slide to assist learners who require scaffolded support. All tasks are numbered, and have been created in line with Distinction criteria examples from the exam board.

A 5 hour, home learning graphic design project, focusing on the re-design of branding for 3 popular social movements: Climate Change Social Justice Mental Health The resource can be used to produce digital outcomes, or hand drawn designs. The resource features detailed self assessment criteria and example work to inspire students. Suitable for KS3 or KS4 students studying Art and Design or D&T. A skills based PowerPoint introducing students to two unique approaches to avoiding design fixation. This PowerPoint can be delivered as a lesson, used in parts as starters or plenaries or integrated into more detail project work. The design approaches provided work well with design & technology focused lessons, but could also be used for engineering lessons, or part of KS3 technology rotations where skills building is the main focus of the lessons.

GCSE Product Design: Design Consideration for Product Launch. This PowerPoint contains a full lesson which explains Market Pull and Technology Push, as well as how products are developed and launched as a result of marketing and advertising. There is a re-design task where students can work in groups to re-design a child’s toy, paying close attention to the “design considerations” from the specification: The influence of fashion, trends, taste and/or style. The impact on society. The impact on usability. The impact on the environment.

A cheat sheet for analysing artwork within art and design and graphic design. Includes definitions key words for use within anaylsis and annotations of artists/designers work and within their own annotations. A4 size, suitable for printing or scaling up and displaying in a classroom.

A 10 task graphic design project which introduces students to the fundamentals of graphic design, and encourages them to use these newly acquired design skills to create music/album artwork for two genres. Suitable for KS3 or KS4. The project itself focuses on merging 2 genres to creatively come with new artwork for a CD cover/playlist artwork. This can be done digitally or by hand. All tasks are clearly explained with visual examples for many. There is assessment criteria which students can use to self assess. There is also a music flyer extension task for those students who would benefit from stretch and challenge.
