Students will learn vocabulary related to the Christmas holidays through a series of interactive activities enabling them to practice their oral, reading, and writing comprehension skills.

This game will enable students to practice using vocabulary to describe people (hair colour, eye colour, etc.) in French. Extra support: Students requiring extra support can be given a vocabulary sheet with descriptor words and expressions to talk about hair and eye colour in French. Materials required to play this game in the classroom: A pair of dice for each group of students (The number of groups will depend on how many students you have in your classroom.)

Students will be able to practice their French conversation skills through engaging in this interactive speaking activity on the theme of food. Tips for use in the classroom: Have students take turns asking each other the questions working in small groups of 3 or 4.

Students will learn new vocabulary and expressions related to ordering food in French at a restaurant. They will practice their oral comprehension and speaking skills through interactive activities involving videos and role plays. As an extension activity, students can describe a favourite recipe of theirs. Rubrics included for both activities. (Please note: The rubrics have been made to follow the four criteria elements in the Ontario French Curriculum.) They can be adjusted based on your school´s curriculum and as you see fit.

This activity is ideal for introducing students to vocabulary related to talking about themselves in French. Fun and engaging activity to start off the academic year!

Students will learn about the different ways questions are formed in French. They will then practice using the different grammatical structures with a written activity at the end.

Students will learn how to use the expressions Faire de … vs. Jouer à… to talk about sports and activities. They will also learn the different contracted forms of the prepositions à and de.

Students will enjoy learning Halloween-themed vocabulary with this fun game of Qui suis-je ?

Students will be introduced to the verbs être et avoir and be able to practice using the verbs through various interactive exercices.
