A new version of my 2013 safety rules in PowerPoint and pdf format

PowerPoint version of my previous SMART notebook file. A short introduction to describing pumpkins, both on the outside and inside. Activity inspired by A-Z Teacher Stuff (lessons atoz) to make a non fiction pumpkin book. Children to write words, phrases or sentences to describe the outside and inside of the pumpkin. Can cut orange wool and seeds to stick on the inside of the book to illustrate. Also some words on pumpkins as display title Suitable for topics on autumn and Halloween

A lesson starter/intro to the story of The Three Little Pigs &/or Homes topic. Loosely based on Through the Keyhole. Use the spotlight tool in ActivPrimary on the image pages to give the children thinking time.

Designed to go alongside the Leicester University Botanic Garden's Whole world cake lesson/activity. Images of ingredients that children find growing within the gardens. This is designed for children to draw/use a map of the gardens, stick and label where the ingredients were found growing. The images could also be stuck onto a world map to show where in the world they are naturally grown. Fits in with work on Fair Trade and harvest.

A pictorial recipe for making egg-free gingerbread men. Focus on the structure of the text as non-fiction, with sections for the ingredients, equipment and method. Including pictorial instruction sorting cards. Great to use alongside the Gingerbread Man traditional tale.

Simple 4x4 grids with columns labelled A to D and rows labelled 1 to 4. Images of superheroes, 2D shapes, dinosaurs and Mickey Mouse characters to find the grid co-ordinates for. Children to remember to write the x-axis first and then the y-axis. The first two grids are very simple with 4 image co-ordinates to record, the next two have either 6 or 9 co-ordinates to record.
