Maths working walls are an essential in a primary classroom. Here are the headings needed to create a cute working wall. Included: bunting which says ‘maths working wall’ headings which say: we are learning to, vocabulary, examples of work, top tips for excellent work, challenge and questions. 13 maths talk posters to develop explanations The bunting lettering is in bold capital letters and says maths working wall. Also included are a flag with a heart and another flag with an apple and sweet little chalk board. The headings have a large space to write under them. Here are the numbers which I use on my working wall washing line. Each number appears on a little shirt. This is a small size washing line to fit onto a working wall or to use in a pocket chart. Also included are socks numbers 1-20. I love these for odd and even. Here are the resources I use with my students to learn about the structure of trees (parts of a tree) and the differences between coniferous and deciduous trees. There are opportunities for children to answer questions with a talk partner or as a class to develop their ideas for writing. Included within the lesson starters is a sample of what their writing might look like and a few prompts for the student to use to keep them on track. To aid in starting to identify trees, I’ve included a lesson starter about identifying and describing an oak tree. There is a word bank and worksheet for this task. Task cards can be given as an activity, as something pupils do if they finish early, as a plenary or can be given as a challenge at the end of an activity. These 48 task cards have been designed for Key stage one children. They are ready for home learning too as there is no prep. It enables children to use part, part whole model and begins a gentle introduction on bar modeling.
