In this resource, I outline 20 potential questions you may be asked in a behaviour support assistant or behaviour teacher/officer role.
These are, of course, not exhaustive - however preparing for them will give you a good idea of how you could answer many questions for this style of interview.

This reflection sheet is a fun, light hearted way for tutors to reflect on the year just gone. It is perfect for the end of the year and to get tutors reflecting on their form tutor role, their highlights and their low lights.
I have had great success with this in the past a tutors generally appreciate the opportunity to feedback as well as the opportunity to reflect in a informal way on their year.

This resource is Set 3 of potential Head of Year interview questions. This includes 12 key questions you are likely to be asked on a Head of Year or pastoral Middle Leader interview.
The list is, of course, not definitive, but the questions are based on experiences in 3 successful interviews for Head of Year posts.

It also includes 3 powerful videos which are designed to get students to reflect on their own views of charity and how they can move forward to support charities more or how they can be more giving themselves.
The assembly also contains a choice of slides for the opening - you can chose from a slide set up for ‘International Charity Day’ or you can chose a slide set up with ‘The Importance of Charity’. This means the assembly can be used for either occasion.

In this resource there is 2 example head of year or head of house application letters/supporting statements.
These are different styles of letter but are both made using my experience of head of year interviews.
They are great for reading in preparation for writing your own letter.
Please remember - these letters are frameworks for your own. I do not recommend sending blanket letters to schools and I would always tailor letters to fit the specific role you’re applying for.

In this resource you will find ready to use ‘concern cards’. These are cards which can be used by staff and by students to ‘log’ concerns with form tutors or heads of year.
Cards can be kept in a space outside an office alongside a lockable box or safe space.
Students or staff can then complete the cards to refer a concern.
These are then picked up by head of year and they decide who can deal with the concern.
These can be used by staff or students to refer other pupils or by pupils to self refer.
These have been used successfully and with impact.

This resource is a ‘behaviour reflection board’. This worksheet can be used to encourage students to reflect on their behaviour and to consider influences on their behaviour, their dislikes and likes as well as their triggers and how the believe they are best motivated.
This is designed to be completed by students individually or in groups and students be used to help plan a course of action. It can be paired with a behaviour action plan to share with staff as well as a behaviour contract.
