This resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It is illegal to copy, rewrite, amend, share or distribute it, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. School / departmental licenses are available. Please read the Terms of Use. Analogue clock times o’clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past the hour in French, with 3 games and 3 challenges. The games really help students develop their skill in telling the time in French in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, learning completely independently. Dominoes games are ideal for language learning, with a multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, and reading. They are perfect for pair and small-group work too. Students work happily challenging themselves and each other to create a perfect domino time-sequence line, on the classroom floor or on a long(ish) table, by matching the times and the clock faces. This kind of activity is really versatile, and useful not only during the introduction phase of learning these particular clock times, but at many times across the school year - for cover / sub lessons, as starters, finishers, warm-ups and exam prep. There are three games, each with a different challenge in the set: = Challenge One: times in numerical order, time phrase to clock face = Challenge Two: times in random order, time phrase to clock face = Challenge Three: times in random order, clock face to time phrase The Lively Learning Classroom offers a wide range of French resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. GERMAN EUROPE COUNTRIES, CAPITALS AND FLAGS POSTERS IN GERMAN GCSE GERMAN EUROPE POSTERS KS4 GERMAN EUROPE POSTERS KS3 GERMAN EUROPE POSTERS KS5 GERMAN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES, CAPITAL CITIES, FLAGS POSTERS Files are non-editable in a zipped format. This product is copyright, all rights reserved. It is illegal to copy, rewrite, amend, share or distribute outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. School / departmental licenses are available. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. The posters create an instant and comprehensive introduction to Europe in German. The posters are portrait format, A4, 8.5 x 11, in German showing European countries, capital cities and flags. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the posters can help students develop their general knowledge and understanding of European geography. There is a range of islands, such as the Faroe Islands, to extend students’ knowledge of Europe a little further, and also some countries, for example Armenia, that are often classed as belonging either to Europe or to Asia. Some countries have two posters, such as France, officially known as Französische Republik - you can choose either that, or the more frequently-used Frankreich to display. The posters look great displayed horizontally across a particular learning area - alphabetically works well, though non-alphabetically is perfect for a country quest activity. They’re ideal for the annual Europe Day celebration, and the European Day of Languages, as well as an all year round display. Laminate if possible - it’s worth the extra prep time and expense, as they hang on the walls more easily, and remain in excellent condition for years. The LIvely Learning Classroom has a wide range of German resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. VIELEN DANK UND SCHÖNE REISE!

The Reference, Recall & Write book has 18 pages. It includes an alphabetical German-English reference list of all 99 words & phrases. The recall and write challenges help students familiarize themselves with, and really embed, the range of vocabulary in the set, and also get used to reading, writing and spelling in German. There are three written recall challenges in the workbook: = Challenge 1 students write the English word or phrase from a German prompt, with all the words and phrases grouped together in the same category = Challenge 2 with this challenge, students write the words or phrases in German from an English prompt, and again, they’re all group together in the same category = Challenge 3 the final challenge switches at each question from German to English, and lists words and phrases randomly from each category. GERMAN FOR CHILDREN FRUITS VEGETABLES FLASHCARDS PRIMARY GERMAN FRUITS VEGETABLES FLASHCARDS KS2 GERMAN FRUITS VEGETABLES FLASHCARDS KS3 GERMAN FRUITS VEGETABLES POSTERS TWO SETS OF FLASHCARDS Files are non-editable in a zipped format. This product is copyright, all rights reserved. It is illegal to copy, rewrite, amend, share or distribute it, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. School / departmental licenses are available. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. An instant introduction to 25 fruits and 25 vegetables in German. The key focus is on the definite article, both masculine and feminine, singular and plural, which can promote discussion about the indefinite article. This is a successful way of helping students embed grammatical concepts such as gender, implicitly, without the need for repeated explicit instruction. To maximise the learning potential of German classroom display, use the set as speaking prompts, asking questions such as Was ist das? to Ja / nein or Richtig / falsch questions, meaning students can move from one-word responses to more complex language, for example plurals or negative sentences. Forming negative sentences accurately can be quite tricky in German, and often requires focused practice Nein, das ist keine Karotte, das ist eine Kartoffel. and so on. This kind of vocabulary is really useful for an implicit approach to introducing and practising the accusative of articles too, for example Ich habe einen Blumenkohl; Ich habe den Blumenkohl. The fruits are: green apples : red apple : bananas : cherries : dates : fig : green grapes : red grapes : kiwi : lemon : mango : nectarine : olives : oranges : papaya : peach : pear : pineapple : pumpkin : raspberry : redcurrants : rhubarb : starfruit : strawberries : watermelon The vegetables are: artichoke : asparagus : beetroot : broccoli : cabbage : carrots : cauliflower : celery : corn : cucumber : eggplants / aubergines : French / green beans : garlic : leeks : lettuce : mushrooms : onions : peas : red peppers : yellow pepper : potatoes : sprouts : spinach : sweet potatoes : tomato The flashcards / posters are 8.5 x 11 (A4) portrait size. There are two design formats to choose from - German flag, or plain without frame, to keep prep costs to a minimum, so 50 flashcards / posters in total. Print on card stock and / or laminate the flashcards / posters, as they display much more effectively, and remain in excellent condition for years. The Lively Learning Classroom offers a wide range of German resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. VIELEN DANK UND GUTEN APPETIT!

The license for purchase is a single-user license only. School / departmental licenses are available. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. A lively whole-group multi-skill language learning game, ideal for Primary German / KS2 German and KS3 / KS4 German students. The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompt of the clock faces, makes it perfect for practising, reinforcing and refreshing how to tell the time in German, and for pronunciation practice too. Students often find half past the hour quite challenging in German, and they find the focused practice really useful. There are 8 clock faces per page. Laminate the cards if possible - they’re more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years. The aim of the game is to arrange the clocks in the relevant order. Students will generally have several cards each, depending on the size of your class. Students can also set the cards on a table, so that they can see the timeline clearly. Playing in teams against a time, using either a single challenge, or with both challenges together, is really popular - students find the competitive element really motivating and are genuinely keen to see which team can finish first, and whether they can beat their own time record. The games also work well as pair or small-group games. There are two games, each with a different challenge: = Challenge 1: with all the the clock times in numerical order, Ich habe… Wer hat…? = Challenge 2: with the all the clock times in random order, which really helps recall and embedding new language, as students often learn time phrases in numerical order, Hast du…? Ideal for cross-curricular learning in French class: students can develop their knowledge of the geography of Europe in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. At the same time, students are developing their French language skills: speaking, listening and reading in particular, as well as broadening their French vocabulary. Play both as a whole-group team quiz, and in pairs or small groups on a regular basis - students are particularly keen to see if they can beat their own points record, and are really motivated by their developing knowledge. The set contains all European countries and capital cities, including some island communities such as the Faroe Islands and Guernsey. Each question has 4 answers to choose from. The correct answer is given in capital letters. There are two quiz challenges: = Challenge 1 gives the country as a prompt, with four possible capital cities to choose from. = Challenge 2 gives the capital city as a prompt, with four possible countries to choose from. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your classroom in any way. It is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply - please read them carefully. This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in French. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a French number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card zéro, and ending with the final card, trente et un. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult learners, who really enjoy it too - the monster theme is popular with everyone! The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word. Try to print in color if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning. Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best French accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play! Have a browse in my store for more French resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. MERCI BEAUCOUP ET BON APPRENTISSAGE !
