German A1 - Review Notes 9 (Travel and Tourism)
This 2-page study handout includes vocabulary and phrases related to travel, tourism and staying at the hotel. Grammar topics include the modal verbs âmĂŒssenâ and âdĂŒrfenâ, with special emphasis on how to negate âmĂŒssenâ correctly. The imperative mood (giving commands) is also covered, with example sentences provided in the âduâ, âihrâ and âSieâ forms. Adverbs used when describing a sequence of events (first⊠then⊠and finallyâŠ) are included in this handout.
These notes can be used in tandem with an already established curriculum â or they can even be the basis for a self-directed curriculum.
Note: local prepositions âĂŒberâ, âunterâ, âvorâ, ânebenâ, âanâ, etc., are not covered in this handout, but appear in âReview Notes 11â. This lesson focuses more on travel vocabulary.

German A1 - Review Notes 10 (Health & Wellness)
This 2-page study handout includes vocabulary related to health, wellness and parts of the body, and also the components of a letter or email (date, sender, recipient, salutation, etc.). Grammar topics include the modal verb âsollenâ, using the verb âweh tunâ, all eight possessive articles including âunserâ, âseinâ and âeuerâ, and all eight dative personal pronouns. Handy phrases used when visiting the doctor are included.

This 2-page set of study notes includes vocabulary pertaining to clothing, cosmetics and hygiene. Grammar topics include demonstrative pronouns in the nominative case, comparative/superlative forms of âgutâ, âvielâ and âgernâ, and the dative verbs âgefallenâ, âpassenâ, âstehenâ and âgehörenâ. Sentences in German are provided for the demonstrative pronouns and dative verbs, along with parallel English translations. The reflexive verbs âsich anziehenâ, âsich ausziehenâ and others are also touched on.

This 2-page set of study notes includes vocabulary pertaining to customer service. Grammar topics include separable verbs with â-machenâ as the root (aufmachen, zumachen, etc.). Also included are prepositions used when referring to time: âabâ, âbisâ, âinâ, âvorâ, ânachâ & âbeiâ. Each preposition is used in one or more sample sentences with parallel English translation. The Konjunktiv II forms of âkönnenâ and âwerdenâ (könnten, wĂŒrden) are touched on.

German A1 - 'finden' vs. 'gefallen' (2-page printable)
This is a two-page printable showing the differences between the verbs âfindenâ and âgefallenâ and the situations in which the two are used. The two verbs are presented here in color-coded questions in the âduâ, âihrâ and âSieâ forms, and an assortment of positive/negative responses is given.

German A1 - Plural Formation (Quick Notes)
This 3-page set of study notes provides common rules and exceptions for forming the plural in German and can be used for test prep. This is not an exhaustive lesson on how to form the plural in all circumstances â but a list of some of the tendencies, set rules, exceptions and common idiosyncrasies the beginner is most likely to run across.

This 2-page set of study notes reviews vocabulary relating to rooms and furniture in the home â including color and dimensions (length, width, height, area). Counting by 100s is also reviewed here (hundert, zweihundert, dreihundert, etc.). The concept of substituting pronouns for nouns according to gender is covered as well: âerâ = masculine âitâ ; âsieâ = feminine âitâ ; etc.

This 2-page set of study notes contains vocabulary pertaining to jobs, career and schooling. The student can review various occupations and how to differentiate between male and female forms (Lehrer-Lehrerin, Arzt-Ărztin, Kaufmann-Kauffrau, etc.).
The preterite tense (simple past) is illustrated here for the verbs âhabenâ and âseinâ. Also, there is a section on prepositions used for discussing things done in the past or during a space of time: âseitâ, âvorâ and âfĂŒrâ. Concise explanations of the rules for using these prepositions are provided.

German A1 - Review Notes 11 (Going Places)
This 2-page set of study notes reviews how to use the two-way prepositions (in, an, auf, ĂŒber, unter, vor, hinter, neben, zwischen) â which can be either accusative or dative. These are often used to indicate location or direction. Different ways of saying âtoâ in German are also covered (nach, in, zu, etc.).
Basic directions (Wegbeschreibungen) are shown in graphic form with annotations. This handout is packed with information, including a large amount of vocabulary pertaining to different forms of transportation and the things one might find in a typical city.

German A1 - Prepositions 'aus', 'von' & 'in'
This short study guide / printable is intended for brand-new students of German and illustrates how the prepositions âausâ, âvonâ and âinâ change the definite articles (der, die, das) into their dative forms. This is important for saying things like: âIch komme aus der Schweiz.â / âIch lebe in der Schweizâ, etc. Grammatical case is mentioned, but not explicitly covered here. Instead, students learn to recognize when these changes need to be made and how. Easy sample sentences are provided.

German A2 - Preterite in Colloquial Speech
This short informational handout introduces students to verbs that often appear in the preterite tense in colloquial German. It can help students identify these verbs when hearing them in films or audio, or when interacting with German-speaking people in ordinary situations. Conjugation tables are provided for some of the verbs listed.

German A1 - Conjugating Verbs
Seven verbs are chosen here as a starting point: âlernenâ, âkommenâ, âschreibenâ, âheiĂenâ, âhabenâ, âsprechenâ & âseinâ. Here, the student learns the regular verb endings and how these are applied based on âpersonâ and ânumberâ. Various irregularities are looked at as well. Conjugations for each verb are first broken down in chart form, and afterwards the student can see the verbs being used in sample sentences. Word order when forming questions is also covered.

German A2 - Vocabulary Review Lessons 61-63
More vocabulary on shipping and packaging, going to the post office, money and education. Grammar topics include the accusative preposition âumâ, verbs with prepositions and dative case personal pronouns. (7 pages of notes divided up into 3 lessons.)

7 pages of vocabulary lessons (3 lessons) pertaining to shipping and packaging, customer service, materials and everyday items. Grammar notes on comparative and superlative adjective and adverb forms (plus âso wieâ, âgenauso wieâ and âalsâ) and the suffix â-losâ. Most new words are used in example sentences.

7 pages of vocabulary notes (3 lessons) pertaining to education and school subjects in addition to some computer terminology. Grammar topics include verbs with prepositions, the past tense forms of the modal verbs âwollenâ, âdĂŒrfenâ and âmĂŒssenâ, and the subordinating conjunction âdassâ.
